The Sound Device Could be Opened

How do u get sounds on here? Because I just downloaded OpenBVE on Christmas Eve and when I play it, the image pops up and it says "The sound device could not be opened." Can you help me plz?

Do you have OpenAL installed? You need OpenAL, you can download it on the dependencies list on the OpenBVE downloads page

Could you post a screenshot of your train folder, and the folder that contains the route's sounds? Because, according to Michelle, it could be something wrong with the files themselves

Umm, no, I meant a screenshot of the contents of your train FOLDER. (You can press Fn and Print Screen at the same time, open Paint, press CTRL and V, then save the image and post it here)

Then upload it to Postimage or something, copy the link, click the "Insert Image" button when posting, and paste the link between the two [img]s

It appears you have all the files in the wrong places.



This is what your directory should look like.  All train files belong in the train folder, while all object folders belong in the object folder.  Sounds belong in the sound folder.

You appear to have put everything in the same Railway folder and not separating the files.

Your supposed to leave it in the Train folder.
