BVEStation Network News / March 2015 BVE Update
« on: March 08, 2015, 05:21:02 pm »
As we move forward into the year, we will be attempting to do monthly updates from everything BVEStation to BVE to even other simulators that you may be interested in, so you always get the latest updates!

First off, if you have been following us on Facebook, we've given updates on the Q.  DJ Hammers and Mr. Railfan have been working tirelessly on it, and it appears a beta is coming in the near future.  As always, we can never guarantee any release dates, but you will be notified on BVEStation when that happens.

Recently we've had a new member mrsam127 begin working on LIRR routes for OpenBVE.  This is a first, as we've had many LIRR trains, but no routes.  Keep an eye out on the forum for these updates!

The old BVEStation Forums has now been re-archived, in a simple format for fast browsing.  You can visit it by clicking on the forum homepage at the bottom.

One of our members posted a link to the London Underground Central Line, a highly detailed route, with realistic train and safety systems for a more realistic experience.  The learning curve on the train is slightly higher than what we typically have for content on BVEStation, but do stick with it, as these systems make the experience more enjoyable, especially once you get the train moving.  Read the instructions carefully, and don't give up trying.  As for the route overall, its great, and is one of the best London Underground routes out there in my opinion.

Not an advertisement or endorsement, but if you are looking for Train Simulator 2015, it is currently on sale on Steam for 50% off.  The game is rather expensive so its best to get it on sale.  As of now.  There's about 19 hours left as of this posting.  What you should do though, is join the BVEStation Steam Group if you have Steam!

If you have any updates, news or routes you like to share, please feel free to post it in the forums.  It may even make it to next month's updates.

The old BVEStation has been archived and formatted in the most basic format, and is now available for viewing.  The link should be working again.

As a disclaimer there may be some links which are missing/links that are not working.  Those were unfortunately lost during the archiving process.  Images are also missing, and youtube videos are mere links.  Any other links to external services may or may no longer work.

Looks like a paint job did it. :D

I don't know about those two routes specifically, but the game is relatively stable, and plays fine.  Load times are still a problem, even though I'm using a Solid State Drive, they take forever.

Hey everyone, We would like to take a survey of what games you guys play.  Most of the above will be train/sim related.  Please feel free to add your game in this post if it is not listed above.  We assume you all play or have played BVE.  Thanks!

We are seeing this is feasible.  All downloads have been reposted on the new BVEStation, there are no older downloads.

Can you get us some screenshots? I've noticed these in the downloads section, but haven't seen what they look like.

I too had some trouble trying to get the train to run, read the instructions on how to operate it, and it will tell you how to get the train moving.

I found the instructions just a little bit unclear, so I kept trying, so what you need to do is first push the Delete key, you should hear the key being inserted.  Then push Page Down 3 times to activate ATO mode.  You should hear the chimes.  At this point close the doors, and the Blue light should come on.  Make sure the gear is set to F (forward) and power set to N (Neutral).  Hold down the 5 and 8 keys at the same time until the train starts moving, then you can let go, and the train will move.  The instructions say 3 seconds, but for me once the train starts moving, you can let go like a second after that.  At this point all you need to do is open the doors/close doors at stations and hold down the 5 and 8 keys to get moving again.

If you want to run it in manual mode, push delete, then Page Down twice.  Then tap the space bar.  Close the doors, and you should be able to control the train manually, you will still need to follow the speed limits, as it will force you to if you go over.

Hope this helps.

Also if you want to know if the plugin is working hit F10 to open the debug menu, you will see the status listed on it.  There was one time where the safety systems didn't work at all though even though it said the plugin was loaded, I just restarted the game and it worked agin.
