Station Talk / Re: N & Q Lines....Failure??
« on: April 12, 2013, 11:24:20 pm »
Reinstall both the (N) and (Q) lines and see if anything changes. I'm guessing you may have altered some of the files, because the way you say it, it sounds like everything is installed correctly, and my announcements work.

Also, 1.4.2 wont open on my pc.

Again, your PC is likely the issue. Updating normally fixes most issues, and without screenshots, it's difficult to pinpoint the issue w/folder structure...

You may just have to get a new computer...

This issue is a bug in the route. Just open the route file with Microsoft Excel or a text editor and remove the "Run.Interval" line of the code.

I have 1.4.1.2

Try updating to version 1.4.2.

Also, can you post screenshots of your folder setup?

I am on a mac, so yeah............

You can open the train.dat file manually and change the values under "DoorOpenMode" and "DoorCloseMode" (the last two values in the #DEVICE section)

I install all my routes like this: C:\Program Files(x86)\BVE\Railway. Isn't that good?

And then...

You need to put your object files under an Object folder, routes under a Route folder, and sounds under a Sound folder. This is imperative....

You need your objects, routes, and sound under C:/Program Files/OpenBVE_stable/UserData/LegacyContent/Railway

They must be then Object/Route/Sound, placing the respective files in those folders.

How do I upgrade RAM?

Look up the chip that your computer uses and purchase more or higher capacity ones.

Even though these are unofficial, these track maps may help you fix the area around Broadway Junction:

(SIR NORTH SHORE LINE, IF YOU SEE THIS PLEASE PM ME.)

I plan to update the car objects for the r143 that are in the route now (since they are not very accurate). i hope to use SIR's R143 objs if he gives permission

You can find even higher quality R143's here:
http://www.openbveconnect.com/page.php?6

Those would go better with the route.

Looking good so far. Yeah I agree you should take your time even though I'm eager to drive this route. I know how the creative process actually have a life of its own. What train is that in the screen shots? I like the cab.

The SMEE train used in the screenshots is the R68 in the downloads section.

« on: March 31, 2013, 12:13:30 am »
I'm just getting back into BVE on my brand new super system. I downloaded the (F) and (Q) routes as a test. The (F) works perfectly, with only one error. The (Q) runs, but there are two thousand errors, hundreds of missing files, missing textures (like wayside signs), and errant textures, like third rails running across switches. I downloaded all of the dependencies, but perhaps I misplaced something. Where specifically should these (Q) dependencies go?

Also, I downloaded the NYCT signals package, but I can't seem to figure out where to place those, either. That would replace the default BVE signals with TA-style signals, correct? I had that working on my old system....

EDIT - Oddly, when I use the R-160 on the (F), there's only one missing file, and one error. But if I choose the SMEE version with the R-46, I get a few more errors.

You need OpenBVE v1.4.2 to run the (Q) line, and make sure you add the Culver and LisaRaye2 folders in your Objects folder.

Wow... this is excellent. It's time for the (L) to move into 4th/5th Generation route territory.

The MT4 lines require the D line and the NYCTA Objects Pack...
