Looks like your folder structure is incorrect. You need to make sure you have a Railway folder. Inside your Railway folder needs to be an Object, Route, and Sound folder. Take a screenshot of inside your Object folder

I took a look at the issue, and the website that the program links to the old openBVE website that took over the project when michelle left. Obviously, the site was taken over by malware, which is why all that sh*t popped up.

This is something that I could easily patch in two seconds, but unfortunately I don't have the source code for this specific version. Unfortunately, that means we might just have to remove it from the Downloads section. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: Forum people at Transit Museum

Apologies for the late reply, but the Transit Museum holds an openBVE exhibit on weekends between 12:30-1:30 and 3:30-4:30, where you would most likely be able to meet some other members. You will also be able to demo new, unreleased content at the exhibit.

Advertisements: If you're talking about those banner ads, we don't have control over them. Ads are there to provide revenue (which keeps this site alive), so there isn't really anything we can do about them. Hosting a site like this isn't cheap. They should all be appropriate, but if you see age inappropriate banner ads, please screenshot them and send it to the admins for us to check out. Otherwise, the random Lexus ad you see on the forums is what keeps the cash coming in.

Spam: 99.9% of the spam on the forums came from bots (ie. not real people). I've implemented some experimental spam filters to weed most of them out (which is why you haven't seen it much recently) but obviously, spam is nothing more than a game of whack a mole. Once you close one door, they'll enter through the next one. We try to keep bots off, but at the end of the day, there is only so much we can do. The best we can do is cast a wide net and hope that only a few will slip through.

Fighting: To be quite honest, it is a byproduct of young users: when a ton of users on here are still in their preteens and early teens, stupid stuff does happen.

However, we would just like to say that when flame wars do break out, do NOT jump into the fray. Just report it and ignore it. One user might want to try and start a fight but the rest of you users have the responsibility to keep it contained as well. Too many times, I see fights spiral out of control because other users jump in for no good reason whatsoever. The admins/mods here are the most senior members of the forums: Almost all of us (if not all) have careers, hold full time jobs, and some of us even have families. I'm a senior software engineer at one of the world's largest companies. BStyles served his country. ipac himself is navigating through the software engineering world.  We can't be here all the time to babysit everyone all the time.  You guys have just as much responsibility as us to ensure that the forums are orderly. Think of it like this: just because you have a maid doesn't mean you can trash your own house.

And this goes for all users. I'm not specifically calling you out, BVERailer. I would just like everyone to know that they all have the same responsibility as us when it comes to keeping the forums orderly.

Station Talk / Re: Rating System Abuse
« on: March 17, 2017, 04:34:57 pm »
@rstar and Ty:

I would like to refer to the BVEStation rules, specifically Section A, rule number 3:
"3. NO PRIVACY VIOLATIONS: Posting of content that violates the privacy or comfort of another member is not allowed."

WizDaGamer asked you both respectfully to not use his actual name, yet you guys intentionally continued to do so. Therefore, you are both in violation of this rule. As a reminder, violators are subject to punishment, including (but not limited to) reprimands, warnings, and bans from the forum. Both of you should consider this as your first warning.

@WizDaGamer:
"I am always on topic"

With all due respect, I disagree with you on this front. There have been multiple times that I can think off of the top of my head where you stepped past the line. I distinctly remember you telling another member that he was not allowed on the forum.  In addition, there have been numerous snarky remarks (ie. "Just waiting for that one person to spam") and arguments with other members that were wholly unnecessary. Like BStyles said, you should perhaps look at your rating as a reflection on your behavior, rather than looking for someone to blame. When you go to school and get a crappy grade on an exam, you should look at that as a reminder that you need to improve, rather than hide behind the "my teacher hates me" excuse.

On the side note, thanks for submitting your thoughts and suggestions regarding a feature on the forum. We encourage everyone to submit their thoughts/suggestions on this board.

Great work on the routes!

Can everyone chill the hell out?

@the people complaining: Nobody is gonna be up at 7AM on a frickin Sunday morning to hand out a train. I've had a stressful week, I'm sure a lot of others have had a very busy week, no one is going to wake up bright and early on a weekend to play games. Just because bvefan and TheExpress said 2/26 does not mean 2/26 at 12:00:01 AM. Everyone calm down.

@R160Railfan: Some patience will do you good. You aren't going to get anywhere by incessantly nagging people for things. You know what I do with people who incessantly nag me? I play trashcan basketball with their resumes. Patience is a life skill. Also, do not ever accuse someone of lying just because you're impatient. Consider this your first warning.

BTW, your "my friend was using my account" lie isn't going to fool anybody.

@ZTraintoBroad: Please do not make baseless accusations. As far as I can tell, R160Railfan is not Epicblaze.

Stuff like this is why developers have long refrained from giving exact release dates on contents. They know that if they say "Feb 26" then there will be a horde of beggars coming in at midnight demanding a release. The developers wanted to do something nice for contributors, and this is how you guys repay them? It's a frickin game for crying out loud

The admins/mods aren't on here that often because we feel like you guys should be mature enough to keep yourselves in check.... obviously some of you guys still have some growing up to do

From a security standpoint, one rule of thumb though, you should never post an email address on an open non encrypted website like this one. Else the spam bots can get a hold of it and spam you to death, or in a worse case scenario use it to pass malware to you. If you want to send an address try to disguise it by changing  the format like say change the @ sign to another character or spaces.

Yes guys, PLEASE USE THE PERSONAL MESSAGING SYSTEM TO SEND EMAILS. We have web crawlers that can go through websites and find emails to add to spam lists. Do NOT list your emails on the public portion of the forum. Thank you.

@bvefan and TheExpress: Great work!

So only those who donated get the beta? Cuz in my opinion, that seems sorta unfair.

Right now, it's not forbidden under the rules. I don't think it's unfair to give donors early access. As long as other users don't begin to abuse the system, I'm fine with it.
