Your Computer(s) Specs....
« on: March 07, 2011, 10:45:21 pm »
This is the thread to post all of your computer specs. etc.

Lets commence lol:

2007 Mac Pro
2 Dual-Core Intel Xeons at 3.00 GHZ 4 MB Cache per Processor

4GB of 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM memory (4  1GB chips)

PCIe x16 ATI Radeon HD 4870 512 MB VRAM

4 500GB 7200RPM Western Digital Hard Drives in a 1.31TB RAID 5 Array (No idea where the extra .31 came from XD)

EIZO FlexScan S2410W Professional LCD Screen with Huey Pro-calibrated color running at 1920 x 1200

Mac OS X Snow Leopard

...and still runs like a charm after 4 years
I use this computer for the graphics aspect of my BVE work mostly because of the calibrated monitor, the great graphics card, and the server processors (which work great with multithreaded programs such as GIMP)

My other system:

2008 (I think) Lenevo X61s thinkpad

1.60 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo

2 GB DDR2 RAM at 667 MHz

Intel 965 Integrated Mobile Graphics Chipset

80GB Hard Drive

Windows Vista Business

I used this computer for the coding aspect of my BVE work because I like notepad, and the lower resolution (1024 x 768) makes it easier for me to do that kind of thing for some reason.

Ahh Pentium 4, I still have my old Dell Dimension sitting in some box.  How times changed.  I think it's about time I update my own computer.  Maybe make a secondary AMD system.

Yep. I remember when the Pentium 4 Hyperthreaded Edition was today's Core i7 CPUs. Anyways, about your secondary system, something like this would be the best bang for the buck. A Phenom II X6 Six Core CPU and a Radeon 6790. Decent system for a good price

Haha, nah I'm not going to OD on the secondary.  I'm probably just going to use it as a streamer/DVD type of thing.  The rig I'm using now is pretty update date already, only downside is probably the processor.

Current rig is probably 2 years behind, but it still does the job on high settings on most games.  Though I stopped playing most online computer games and such so I'm probably going to downgrade the current rig or just do a light build.

Current rig:
Kentsfield Q6600 Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz
EVGA 750i SLi-Ready Motherboard
Dual EVGA GeForce 9800GTX+
4x 2GB DDR2 Corsair Memory Sticks (8GB Total)
Corsair 750W PSU
2 DVD/Burner Drives
2 500GB WD HDD
Some Apexia Full ATX
Windows 7 Profressional 64bit

Probably going to downgrade to a Mid-ATX tower and use some HD video card from ATi, but yeah still undecided on what to do.  Who knows I might just opt for a laptop in the long-run.

Wow... you have a lot of old systems lol

talk about old school, the Pentium 4 rig is using a relic of an old case lol. considering the original guts were gutted out sometime in 2007 and rebuilding was finished around late 2008!

iPhone Sync FAIL

and it performs great on Crysis

Well here's my queens information.I got this Christmas '06 I believe and she still runs good.(Well at least I think so).
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional(5.1,Build 2600)
System Manufacturer: Sony Corporation
System Model: VGN-AR230G
Bios: Phoenix NoteBIOS 4.0 Release 6.1
Processor: Intel (R) Core(TM)2CPU   T5600   @ 1.83GHz (2CPUs)
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Device: NVIDA GeForce Go 7400

I'm not sure if this is still good now we're in 2011 but she still runs good.I get very good frames with programs and decent speed(note:I have Trainz 2010,OMSI,FS04) I used to have more games such as (Sims3,Ship Sim08,FSX) all at once on here but I limited my games for more room).

Your gonna need a faster CPU if you want a faster performance. 1.83Ghz is slow for todays standards. Though a dual core proc is fine so your good for now
