Other Projects / (RELEASED) Brightline for OpenBVE!
« Last post by BVERailer on August 22, 2018, 02:30:20 am »
In partnership with Bluedash9 (Instagram user, we are proud to announce that we are creating all five Brightline trainsets for OpenBVE! Locomotives will be reskinned Siemens Taurus Pilot Cars with an added nose cone, and Coaches will be reskinned off of the Siemens Taurus coaches. It will come in all five colors:
Blue, Pink, Green, Orange, and Red. We will also include sounds realistic to the Siemens Charger. Unfortunately, no planned routes are being made for this set because of the complex station objects that would be needed. If anyone has an object and is willing to help out, please let me know. Screenshots coming soon!

Would there be another site to download the NYCT trains and routes?
I don't know, this site is so dead that nothing is uploaded on the download page anymore, only on forums but even that is rare because people take centuries to work on new content unlike back in 2010-2015, or they just stopped developing because of their personal life and work. A lot of inactivity in the community anyways, at least there's me working everyday on my projects. But I'll always put links on forums once I release something.

Here is an update for the canopy work, specifically windscreens. I was thinking of just placing the station sign over the existing windscreens, but I decided to add a bit more detail by adding different windscreens to make the canopy look more closer like the real life counter part.

Full length canopy. The square holes will eventually contain mesh, and the black strip will contain the station name sign. The reason why the strip is black is so you see the words on the sign when on the platform, as the sign will be placed right in front of it, but will be black if the camera is behind the canopy and looking towards the station.

Windscreen with space for wire mesh on the right

Windscreen with space for wire mesh on the left

Black strip for the sigh in the middle, space for wire mesh on the left and right

Updated version of the currently used windscreen

You can check this spreadsheet for all the dependencies for each route. It also covers trains and has links for them all.

Not many people visit the site much anymore, so if you want custom car numbers, you would need to find someone who knows how to build them, and contact them personally. A train developer might be able to help you, but it is up to them, as they might/will have other projects that they are working on that will that priority. If you can't find someone, you might need to build the car numbers yourself.
