Transit / Re: did a train derail if yes what train line was it
« on: March 15, 2011, 06:56:27 am »
I forgot if it was a collision or a derailment, but anyone remember; I believe it was a B train right before Dekalb Ave, this was probably a long while back when some of the forum members were still in the single digit years.

Another one, can't really say it was a derailment but kind of caused one?  The L train incident at Rockaway.

yeah despite the price IT'S OVER 9000 times better than a car ride.

You can't turn down a nice cruise on the turnpike.  No potholes ever.

Sheesh I miss all of the snow.Haven't seen much since the 1st week of February.Winter has been boring and bland since the last major storm which gave us 19 inches on the 26th or 27th of January.Nice shots.

I for one DO NOT want to see anymore snow.  Don't get paid on snow days, so be gone with the snow!

Nice shots!

Otherwise yes, if you think your up for the challenge, then you most certainly can.

For new developers, I encourage you guys to do something that wasn't done before.  We have a million "NYCT" (yes in quotes) fictional routes already, its a shame that we may have more released (here or not).  I encourage you guys to think up of something new, and use completely new objects in making whatever you plan to make.  By creating an example is how we improve our non-fictional routes.

You may ask why dont we just do it on the non-fictional itself, well we do that too, objects like the Coney Island Station (textures by me) and my new tunnel walls were built for those purposes and then modified by others for improvement.  But there are some things that do require a test on an actual route.  Things like timers on ray's shuttle is an example of that.

It seems anybody can make a route these days, it wasn't like how it used to be in the past.  And its quite true.  But not everybody has something new and interesting they can make.

This post. Thumbs Up.

@bve - That somewhat helps, you have to remember the .7z files have everything combined.

If anything, the .7z files should be extracted to your C:/Program Files/BVE/Railway folder or wherever that you have the BVE folder saved to.  You extracted it there because in most cases the .7z file is one folder with the "Object," "Route," and "Sounds" folder combined.  It'll all follow through and extract to the right places.

If a person was skilled enough, couldn't he just create the whole thing from scratch?  Just saying because I don't see that logical at all.  It's like if I worked for a furniture store, I can't make a certain table because the original blueprints are kept by him; but I'm skilled enough to make my own table and it'll look exactly like it.  I can't really explain it.

Will there be a stop on Broadway and 96th?  I mean it would be an odd turn, might as well go straight up Colombus or something.  Other then that, would be interesting to see a route along Ocean Pkwy.

Actually you DON"t need the blue one. Whether you install it or not is your discretion. I used openBVE plenty of X's w/o BVE2 actually on my machine

This post, thumbs up.

You don't need BVE 2 or BVE 4 to run OpenBVE, you however will need OpenBVE's dependencies which should be 2 .dll files listed on their site's directions.

You'd actually be surprised at how people just "skip" the rules page. =P

My old desktop has Windows XP and it ran OpenBVE with no problems, like everyone is saying; download all the dependencies.  I mean honestly a single core can still tackle OpenBVE with almost no problems.

I must disagree with what bve has to say, P4 is still enough to run OpenBVE; it just won't be as good as any common dual-core computer or any quad-core and up.  Though as what he is saying; a lot of people, as I assume, would have at least a dual-core by now. (I think they sell dual-core's as basic setups by now.)

In most cases, you just have old drivers as ipac stated.

Great route, probably only thing wrong with it was the information given after passing Smith-9th Street; it isn't really BQE yet, still called Gowanus, I'd say around where the F/G descends back underground, then it would be called the BQE.  Other then that, fantastic!

If im not mistaken, legally you were supposed to be 13+ when you registered. Regardless of your age the rules are the rules and you must follow them. Doesn't matter what your age is failure to do so has a harsh price. You'll thank me in the future.

In a perfect world yes, did you know before facebook was so famous, you had to be 18+ to be in it, but everyone lies about their age anyway.

Basically I'm saying, everyone lies about their age to get away with stuff.  You don't know how many times I've seen fake ID's pass by the bar's door, it's hilarious.

Damn, what percentage of this forum is 21+ anyway?

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Code the sides where the doors opens.
« on: February 22, 2011, 07:22:05 pm »
So whenever I drive trains with animated doors and such, I find it weird when it opens on the sides with no platforms.  Just wondering where in the codes I can alter the side where the doors can open?  Just for realism.

People make sacrifices  to improve the lifestyle of NYers?  They must not be sacrificing anything because, I believe DJ Hammers would agree with me, The Gowanus has been "under construction" for 22 years and probably more.

You may believe it's not delayed, they may say it's not delayed, but let's face it; it's New York.  Everything is delayed.
