I downloaded some of the announcements within "need announcements" and I made sure they were extracted to the sound folder. When I play OpenBVE, no announcements. Can anyone help?
-
Make sure they are in their respective folders. For Example Y2, Crosstown, F4, etc

Ok, I'm not sure what you mean. When I downloaded them they were in the folders like "Forest Hills-bound V". I copied them to the original sound folder that came with the corresponding line, and deleted the old ones that were there- and nothing still.
-
Yeah..., that's gonna keep happening as the file names for the sounds I uploaded don't correspond to the original ones the routes have. Don't fret though as I have updated the file for the correct R160 announcements. Download the new route file here (http://www.4shared.com/file/gfxHb8P1/2_Av_to_71_Av.html). Please note when downloading and unzipping the sounds files, they must be in the following directory or they won't play:
...\BVE\Railway\Sounds\NYCTA\Forest Hills-bound V\
You're welcome, and as always, I claim no ownership of anything. All creations are copyright their original owners.

I appreciate the attention Lance, but :-\your link came up as an Excel values sheet.

.csv files are used for openBVE and can be used as an MS Excel file. The file is legitimate.

Okay,so what do I do with said Excel sheet. I'm sorry, but I am no computer whiz.

You put that Excel file into C:\(whatever path leads you to OpenBVE)\openBVE\Railway\Route\NYCT-V and overwrite the existing one.

Ok Thanx.
By the wya, Lance, are all of them redone like this?
If not, you don't have to trouble yourself, but I would like to know.

Wait... still nothing.

Double-check to make sure you also have ALL the (V) announcements in the directory that Lance mentioned; the new CSV route file will still be the same route except it changes some of the coding to accompany the new names of some of the sound files. In other words, both the sounds and the new CSV are dependencies of each other
-
Ok, I deleted the old V route file and replaced it with the new csv. and I changed the name of the file to the name required. All the sounds are there. I played
them and they sound beautiful- at least as beautiful as train announcments can be
And Still nothing. Is it only for BVE and not for OpenBVE or something?

Ok, what exactly do you mean by "still nothing"?
-
I mean that the announcements do not play.
Sorry if I wasn't specific.
-
Damn, this small post box thing is annoying. [/off topic]
Did you place the sound files exactly where I specified earlier in this thread? If they aren't in this location:
...\BVE\Railway\Sound\NYCTA\Forest Hills-bound V\
the sounds won't play. That's how I recoded the route file so that all the automated announcements are in one location and not all over the place within the "Sound" folder.
I just ran the route on my computer and the sounds play just fine. They are a tad low though and I'll fix that issue eventually.

So ALL the automated announcments must be in this NYCTA folder within the sound folder, correct?
-
Yes, just put them in there and you should be fine
-
Ok, so I'm not sure if this is affecting the halting of progress, but the actual announcments are within a "title of route" within a "title of route folder".
(By title of route I mean Forest Hilss-bound V or Coney Island-bound Q).
