Title: I need help
Post by: kyleoXD on February 02, 2011, 10:57:09 am
Hi,

I downloaded both BMV v2 and BMV v4 but both are not working.

With BMV 2 i get "Cannot initialize Direct 3D"
then with BMV 4 it just won't open.

I downloaded all the correct files and everything.

I have Windows 7.

I need help!! AHH

Thanks!

Unless you do the download the dll trick, BVE 2/4 is not compatible with Windows Vista nor Windows 7. You can ask the members about the trick as I don't have BVE2/4 on my laptop (I only have OpenBVE).

Yes, the .dll trick works sometimes so your best bet might be to go with OpenBVE (Abortion)

You didn't download the dependencies.

http://openbve.trainsimcentral.co.uk/use/download_windows.html (http://openbve.trainsimcentral.co.uk/use/download_windows.html)

Download that, and if the problem presumes, try redownloading the OpenAL32.dll.

If your missing a lot of objects in your route, make sure you have all the dependencies or just re-download your route

Certain route require what is called Objects and Sounds. Those are needed in order to load into the train simulator and run during the simulator. Certain routes use Objects and Sounds from multiple folders. You need to make sure those sounds are installed. After that there should be know problems.

For the openAL problem:

Open up the oalinst.zip. Then Run the installer.

The other folders such as tao.zip, and SDL.zip you just open them up and copy everything into the extracted openbve_stable folder. Extract the openbve_stable.zip folder before dragging anything into it. You should be fine after.
