I was VERY happy when I was notified that this had been released. The next and probably final update will see the addition of the unique compressor sound that is so commonly associated with the Genesis Series. Enjoy :)

Managed to update the K5LA and compressor relatively quickly:

Is there a readme to this train. Somehow i can't use the train from this folder 1934_2xx2~Psgr_A1.435~0025.91. Can someone please help me? Thanks. Overall this train is the best, keep up the amazing job Fan Railer :) :D ;D

Keep in mind that this download is only a section of what is needed. the specific P42 download only gets you the two trains, locomotive, and locomotive with 5 cars.
the folder you mentioned is not a train folder, it is only an object folder for the passenger cars. you have to place that folder into your P42 folder (the one with the train.dat file, ie 1991_xbbx~dloc....AMTK passenger) After that, you must proceed back to http://www.mediafire.com/openbve (http://www.mediafire.com/openbve) and download the appliances folder if you haven't already and place it in the P42 folder. Finally, you must go to the extensions file and delete "..\" from every car entry.
Once again, this locomotive and trainset comes only with exterior settings. You must transplant your own panel and your own sounds from elsewhere. For my personal collections, I simply took the train.dat, sounds, and panel from a pre-existing F42DC mod that I had made with the GE prime mover sounds, and replaced the object files with the ones for the P42.
EDIT: Strike that, somehow, whoever developed this P42 found my EXACT train.dat file from my F40/GE Dash 9 DC mods. The sounds also match. So that makes it easier on you actually. All you need to do is just find a suitable panel and get the object files to work.

@Pegasus and FanRailer
I just downloaded one ZIP file. Go to http://www.mediafire.com/openbve (http://www.mediafire.com/openbve)
Scroll the long list and pick ZIP file "OpenBVE Train 1991_xBBx~DLoc_A1.435~0021.03_GExx~Pxxx_AMTK~Psgr..."
It's a humongus file (>100M) but unzip and you get 4 subfolders
\Train\1934_2xx2~Psgr_A1.435~0025.91\
\Train\1991_xBBx~DLoc_A1.435~0021.03_GExx~Pxxx_AMTK\
\Train\1991_xBBx~DLoc_A1.435~0145.70_GExx~Pxxx_AMTK~Psgr\
\Train\1991_xBBx~DLoc_A1.435~0197.52_GExx~Pxxx_AMTK~Psgr\
FanRailer you're right, the first folder is just the car objects, not an operable train.
I think the cars are meant for use with different locomotives/trains, there are several liveries in that folder.
Yeh, the original download doesn't have a detailed cab, it's a 3D black interior that you can see out the windows, no panel.
FanRailer can you upload your patched cab for us?
Pegasus, put those 4 folders in your train folder. I don't think you need to alter them much.
Choose the 2nd folder in OpenBVE and you should get an operable train with just the locomotive.
Choose the 3rd folder in OpenBVE and you get an operable train with the locos and cars in a PushPull consist.
Choose the 3rd folder in OpenBVE and you get an operable train with the locos and cars in a DoubleHeader consist.
That's what worked for me.

Lets see if this works. I am attaching a small .rar file with the necessary parts for the panel to operate properly. It is the same panel you see in most of my videos, and will have to do until someone develops an actual Genesis panel.
EDIT: because of the limited attachment size here, I'm uploading the 18 car railjet trainset pack onto media fire. Download it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?3z9f04r3s37j55h (http://www.mediafire.com/?3z9f04r3s37j55h)
It is easily modifiable, so you guys should have no trouble working with it.

FR,
Thanks for those latest videos and the train uploads with your cab files.
Just what I needed.

Thanks for putting so much effort and time into modifying this trainset so that we can enjoy it, right away without us having to do the hard part. Your the best. Thanks again :) :D ;D

Just ran the Genesis train over one of the NWM morning routes.
Seeing the headlights break through the thick fog,
then the loco blasts into view at 100kph plus, what a blast!
It's not kosher, an Amtrak train on a British route, but hell of a great drive.

Where can I get a LIRR route or something like in your videos

The fictional LIRR route is here:

I think FanRailer's videos above are on either Hungarian or UK NWM routes; check Vince Black's listings for those:

Just drove an old Italian mountain route, that's a great run for this Genesis train.

There's 2 routes, summer and winter.
