Feel free to disagree with me, but this is the closest I can get to it after riding behind locomotives on Caltrain for the last week.

Nice, I remember these freight locos I used to play on openbve before I discovered MSTS. I think you should look into the sounds for MSTS and see if you could get them to work for openbve. Other than that, great job :)

LOL I am way ahead of you (great minds think alike hehe). It is a painless transfer, since both programs are compatible with .wav sounds. The 7FDL sounds and the bell sound are from MSTS packs. My next mini project (to be undertaken on my Amtrak trip across the country back home (Zephyr + Lakeshore) will be to play with the EMD 710G sounds (also from msts) and see if I can get them to work properly so they can be used in the SD70ACe.
But for now, here is the last video of this unit operating before I hope on that Zephyr in 2.5 hours:

Great work on the engine sounds, they are incredibly accurate.

Found some dome cars and tacked them on to the train.
