whats the big deal with the m8's they have been around since 2005. they first appeared in the Stamford yard. they are nothing special just a cheap box copy of the m7 just with pantographs. now what you need to get excited about is the m9 and m9a which are going to start revenue service in a few months. now those m9's will be the king of metro north railroad. the m8u is just temporary while the m9a order gets filled out. the m9a is just like the m8 but with a restaurant car and quiet car. the m9 will also have express high speed service using acela tracks. the m8 is just old they look new cause they never been used. they were taken to the Stamford yard in 2005 and were never used because the m7 came out before it. metro north had place an order for 2 kinds of cars in 2003 the m7 and m8. in 2005 the m7 came out first and by the time the m8 got finished the m7 was already making money so the m8 was held off till last year. the m8 has been in revenue service since November 2008 go to this youtube link www.youtube.com/user/bebo2good1 and look through his videos okay.

That info is inaccurate.  The M8's haven't even debuted on TA property until like 2009 or so. 2 how do you know what the M9's are gonna look like? What are your sources? You need to provide some form of proof on paper or in video or picture or w/e. Not word for word. The big deal here is that THESE were the FIRST revenue cars. Revenue meaning in passenger service if you did not know ;)
