NYCTA Projects / (WIP) The Complete IRT Development Thread
« on: March 06, 2017, 10:08:48 pm »
Wow, it's been a while since I posted here, hasn't it? Well then let's get right to it.

This is going to be the development of the routes spanning the entirety of the Interborough Rapid Transit. The routes were redesigned so that each and every one of them share the same and accurate distances, as well as coding and object usage.

The current lineup of developers is as follows:

BStyles, JayJay85: 2, 4, 5, 6
Subway4832, Sim Central: 1, 3
RF9197: 7

President Street on the 2 and 5, as it appeared in 2000:

And the new version:

Utica Avenue on the 3 and 4, as it appeared on the original version of the 4:

As well as the updates I added over time:

And the latest version. Hopefully this will be the last time it needs to get updated:

New walls for Bergen Street, local platforms:

Enjoy for now! More updates to come very soon!

We're gonna start consolidating these topics into one, this way they stay at the top of the page and you don't have to go looking for the progress. This is the topic for the new tech trains, currently being worked on by myself, Mr. Railfan, DJ Hammers, Nyctrman, Manny, XD60, and the rest of the team.

General BVE/OpenBVE / Hosting More Content
« on: July 03, 2011, 01:36:14 am »
For the past decade or so, we have all enjoyed using British content for BVE. I know I have. Some of the most profound developers across the globe have created content for this great simulator, free of charge, for all of us to enjoy. Most of these developers have helped me achieve some things that I never thought I could do, four years ago, when I began using BVE.

But now, some disturbing events have been brought to light. I didn't pay attention to it at first, but then I started to notice that entire BVE websites started closing down, one by one, housing said great content. What I'm beginning to hear, and don't take this the wrong way, because I have not been paying attention to it lately, but a group of members have been constantly bashing some of those developers, some being administrators to their own websites, and finally being unable to take the bashing any longer, they closed their sites down, indefinitely. It's heartbreaking, but it was their decision.

Before I get to the point that I'm trying to express in this topic, I would just like to say that these members have to realize that the content is not theirs, and there are rules put in place that they need to follow. If they do not like what they getting, then they don't have to play the simulator; there are thousands of other games out there that they can so gladly pay for. There's even a whole world out there that they can travel and go see with their families, instead of sitting behind a computer screen and bashing world renowned content creators. I find it ironic that this stupidity has gone on for over 10 years from a bunch of petty, ungrateful, set of people, probably grown adults, acting like a bunch of seven-year-old children, but I digress.

Anyway, with all of the sites now taken down, and some of the developers from across the pond looking for a safe place to host the content, why not host the content here? It's impossible to guarantee a safe environment for these developers, no, but we can ensure that the content is respected, and their work will always be valued here. I call out to guillyman, whom I’ve known for a while now, he has been updating our site regularly with their developments, to call on other developers they know, who have been treated harshly by those ungrateful members, to host their content here, BVEStation. We may host New York City Transit routes as a majority, yes, but we are also open to content from other parts of the world, because I believe that this is a unified community. Their opinions would be appreciated, whether they like it or not, we will understand.

*Asterisk means that the 142A project will be coordinated with Bill(Error46146) and/or (SIR) North Shore Line.

Decided to start this one too. The 142 is in full development, and will sport a 3D cab. I'm currently analyzing the coding used in the recent MARTA CQ312 to reference the 3D Cab, and if its possible I will make a 3D and 2D version for those who are unable to run it. It should be possible by now, but whatever though.

The R142/142A project will start from where it left off on the old forum, with the 142 exterior completely done. Work will resume on the interior after I work out most of the details on the R62/62A project. So for now, update 1:

And for the video. I have long since updated the sounds but for now, here's what it sounds like. It will sport the 142A panel with very minor changes until I can get started on the 3D cab.

Yep, this is it! The R62/62A Exterior/Interior development thread! I meant to make one once the interior had been overhauled but things are starting to move faster in terms of development. If you've followed from the old forum, then the development is no different here.

We basically built the car from an older static model and kept adding things on from that point. By the time I thought I was done with the interior I hadn't realized that I couldn't even understand my own coding. The exterior was also incredibly short and the process was becoming more and more complicated, so, I'm overhauling the entire project, obliterating all of the coding, and starting over from scratch. The exterior will still feature Theflyingoreo's animated rollsigns and the curved roof provided by Pjiang6211.

The first of many updates:

Yes, those are the windows. They were made as a separate wall with transparency so that we don't have to make a separate object for every window. Expect more updates soon.

Introduction / 4 Years Later
« on: January 06, 2011, 04:46:42 pm »
Four years ago this site started. It's been through hell to get where it is today, and I must admit, some people thought it wasn't going to get any better. But now that I look back on those four years I can say....damn, it's been fun!

I never made an introduction on the previous forum, so here I am.

Other Projects / HL - The IND Flatbush Avenue Line
« on: December 31, 2010, 09:16:38 pm »
This is the new official update thread for the HL. For all of the old members who have been following regularly, then you should know of the progress of this line. As for new ones, the images will follow shortly.

Progress as of this post is as far as Garrison Avenue, while station information is as far as Division Avenue - Broadway. Credits also go out to Coneykidw8 and Lexington456 who have, and will be helping me with the progression of this line.

The Google Map for this line: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=208926562033814987950.00048eec9ced9d37fa1f7

Route history:

This route has been in development since 2008 and this is the third version of this line. I originally had it running from The World Trade Center to West 145th Street in Manhattan, but I have long since lost that file in a computer crash.

The new line, now phase three, runs from Parkchester in the Bronx to the Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Mill Basin, Brooklyn. Local service does not follow down the Flatbush corridor; it instead serves the major terminals in the city and follows the old route path of the original HL back to the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.

The default trainset for this line will vary, and the overall route will strive to achieve 5th Generation visuals and full OpenBVE compatibility.

NYCTA Projects / (WIP) Official Update Thread for the NYCTA IRT Routes
« on: December 31, 2010, 09:08:14 pm »
This is the new official update thread for IRT development of all bronx-bound routes. For all of the old members who have been following regularly, then you should know that the 4 topic will be consolidated to meet the demand for new development. As for new ones, the images will follow shortly.

The objects folders for these routes will also be centralized to require less dependencies. It makes no sense to have to download multiple folders for one line, and from a different division. The folders are as follows:

"7thAve" Object Folder - 1, 2, 3, and the 5 from Flatbush to President and from 149th to Nereid.
"Lexington" and "Pelham" Object Folders - 4, the 5 from Franklin to 138th, and the 6 from 125th to Pelham Bay Park.
No info on which object folder the 7 uses, but more than likely it will be labeled "Flushing".

Four object folders for seven routes based around the same principle as a punchbox.

Progress(this main post will be updated regularly):

1 - The 2 via the 1 is under development. The official 1 is currently slated for development after the completion of this G.O. To Catch up on the progress, please see these topics: http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=593.0 For 2 Via 1: http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=1093.15

2 - The Nostrand Branch of this route is under development, while the Eastern Parkway portion follows development of the 4. The lines will merge development once the Nostrand line is complete.

3 - A skeleton from Livonia Yard to Crown Heights - Utica Avenue is currently in the works. Will follow development of the 2 and 3 once this is complete.

4 - Progress is as far as Nevins Street. Backtracking to update objects and placement info for the 2 and 3 are underway.

5 -  Once the Eastern Parkway portion of the route is complete the 5 will merge development with the 4 and then continue development with the 2 at 149th.

6 - JayJay85 is working on the Pelam portion of the route. Once it reaches 125th, the line will merge development with the 4 and 5. To catch up on the progress, please see this topic: http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=148.0

7 - EDawg is working on the Manhattan-Bound version. In the future the extension will be added. To catch up on the progress, please see this topic: http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=140.0 and the archived topic on the old forum: http://www.bvestation.com/forums/index.php?topic=410.0

Credits go out to Twig, Ray, Lexington456, JayJay85, NYC-T-Driver, EDawg, and Manny who have, and will be developing the IRT routes.
