OpenBVE NJ Transit HBLR Development Thread
« on: February 23, 2015, 07:35:14 pm »
Hey guys-
Before I started developing the Hempstead Branch, I made a made a shuttle route on the NJT HBLR from Richard Street to 8th Street for practice. I will be developing this, with lesser priority, as I develop the New Canaan and Hempstead Branches. Right now the route is very short, but it may be expanded soon. Along with the route, I am also developing the Kinkisharyo LRV that operates the HBLR. This project is NOT my top priority, so don't expect too much information on it lol, but I will try to give (fairly) regular updates. I'll post screenshots and videos after more progress has been made with the route.

When you're satisfied with what you have for the LRV unit, send it over and I'll nail down the sounds and the physics for it.

HBLR Beta Release Possible in Near Future
« Reply #5 on: March 21, 2015, 05:49:44 pm »
HBLR development is going good. The route is being actively developed, as well as the LRV. I am thinking about making a VERY short public beta release of the route (just two or three stops), which will accompany the release of the LRV. This may happen in the next couple of weeks so please stay tuned and feel free to ask questions =)

Video: HBLR Shuttle and Kinkisharyo LRV Progress

This video shows progress made so far with the HBLR Shuttle BETA from 45th Street to 22nd Street. Along with the route, the Kinkisharyo LRV will be released. The horn and bell sounds probably will not change before the release, but the motor sounds and physics are being worked on and will be very realistic. Stay tuned on development and feel free to ask any questions =).

The preliminary shuttle test route is complete and will be released when the LRV has a completed exterior and accurate sounds and physics.

Wait till I get back home for the summer (after memorial day weekend)... You'll have no shortage of reference content to work off of.
