With UP restoring 4014 into working order, I felt that playing around with her on a 7 hour excursion from San Bernardino to Barstow and back was appropriate. The hope is that one day, we will see excursions like this in real life. I know this video is long, so here is a time table of contents so that you can skip to the parts you wish to see:
0:00 - 48:00 - #4014 performs yard shunting and builds her 25 car excursion consist at San Bernardino Station.
48:00 - 2:38:00 - #4014 Fights her way up Cajon Pass via the South track (3.5% grades)making for some nice low speed chugging action before reaching the summit and coasting down to a quick rest at Victorville.
2:38:00 - 3:37:00 - After sitting at Victorville for a few minutes, #4014 departs and makes with due speed up to Barstow Station.
3:37:00 - 4:03:00 - #4014 uncouples from the majority of her excursion set (taking 8 cars with her) and proceeds to wye at Barstow.
4:03:00 - 4:36:00 - A pair UP EMD F7s already at Barstow run 5 cars around to the rear of the excursion before running back up to the front to assist #4014 on her way back down to San Bernardino.
4:36:00 - 5:24:00 - #4014 and her F7 helpers lead the now 30 car excursion back down to another short layover at Victorville.
5:24:00 - 6:30:00 - #4014 takes the excursion back through Cajon pass on the North track this time and down to San Bernardino Station. Running speed in this segment maxes out around 90 mph.
6:30:00 - 6:54:00 - #4014 uncouples from the excursion set and allows the F7s to shunt the set back onto the station platforms before they come to a rest on the outer track.
6:54:00 - 7:01:00 - #4014 backs herself up to her original position at the start of the day where she will rest and pose for photos after a long day of work.

Thanks for watching =) Hope you enjoyed this video (movie).

PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING:
With UP restoring 4014 into working order, I felt that playing around with her on a 6 hour excursion around her home base of Sherman Hill (Cheyenne to Laramie) and back was appropriate. The hope is that one day, we will see excursions like this in real life. I know this video is long, so here is a time table of contents so that you can skip to the parts you wish to see:
0:00 - 22:00 - #4014 pulls out of the roundhouse via the turn table and performs yard shunting to build her 27 car excursion consist at Cheyenne.
22:00 - 38:00 - #4014 Backs out of Cheyenne Yard with her consist onto the mainline track 1.
38:00 - 48:00 - #4014 pulls her train from the switch junction into Cheyenne Depot to pick up passengers, where she poses for a few photos before departing.
48:00 - 1:34:00 - #4014 departs Cheyenne and beings the battle up Sherman Hill on the mainline train 1, which has a grade of 1.5%.
1:34:00 - 1:41:00 - #4014 pulls into Granite siding to take a breather, and allow local railfans to snap more pictures of her.
1:41:00 - 2:07:30 - After a brief stop at Granite siding, #4014 starts her 27 car train from a dead stop on the 1.5% grade, demonstrating her power as she continues up towards the summit of Sherman Hill.
2:07:30 - 2:33:00 - #4014 finally reaches the summit of Sherman Hill and begins her high speed (65 mph) decent towards Laramie.
2:33:00 - 3:12:00 - #4014 arrives at Laramie, unloads passengers, and poses for pictures before proceeding to wye her train for the return run back to Cheyenne.
3:12:00 - 3:47:00 - #4014 backs her train into Laramie Depot to pick up her passengers before departing for the march back up Sherman Hill via track 3 which has a slightly more gentle grade of about 0.8%.
3:47:00 - 3:58:00 - #4014 rejoins the mainline at Hermosa, and continues over the Summit before splitting from the mainline again past Dale.
3:58:00 - 4:34:00 - #4014 continues downhill on track 3, cruising at 65 mph until she reaches Speer, where she takes advantage of the water tower for a quick drink.
4:34:00 - 4:48:00 - After refilling her tender with water, #4014 departs and continues towards Cheyenne.
4:48:00 - 5:00:00 - Arriving at Cheyenne, #4014 drops off her passengers.
5:00:00 - 5:51:00 - #4014 spends the remaining hour switching her passenger cars back to their exact original positions (using the balloon track [5:12:00]) before coming to a rest on the refueling track.
