Hey guys.
I am relatively new to the BVEStation community. In my spare time, I have taught myself the basics of CSV
coding and I am working on making the existing old 1st generation (L) line more accurate.
What I plan to do:
photorealistic station walls
railgaps
accurate walls in the 14th ST tube
and maybe ATC or the Seltrac ATO ;)
I know that there are other new L routes in development, but I thought I'd
give this a try.
I have PM'd Phantom909 and asked his permission. If he says yes, my project will commence.
Screenshots maybe coming later...
-
Have at it bro :') You'll do fine~
-
Good luck! If you need help feel free to PM me.
-
thanks for the support! ;D
here goes nothin'....
lol ;)

FIRST EYE CANDY!!
here you can see i have added the OPTO signs which are now on the (L) line.

Good start.
BTW, For future purposes, I would suggest using imgur.com instead of postimage to put images up on here.
-
Just in case anyone has trouble seeing that image..

WHAT ELSE WILL HAPPEN?
Possibly ATC or ATO.
The aforementioned photoreal station walls.
Possibly updating the track to the latest (the track on the DRTA fulton shuttle and BStyles' (4))
ill keep u guys posted.. :).

THE SCREENSHOTS KEEP COMING....

What would really go good with this update is new signals & timers :D
-
Well you're in luck (J)...in fact i'm working on those now.
Timers-they're cool-especially the ones in TJay's signal pack-but now there are no more timers on the (L) cause of CBTC.
In fact, there are barely any signals at all, just around crossover switch junctions.
Currently I am adding TJay's signals in to the route.
More pics are on the way, stay tuned
;)

Amazing progress, dont quit....keep it going, im sure everyone here appericates your contribution ;D
-
thanks
I sure hope people do....lol ;)
-
great progress on the route!!! with the installment of tjays signals, you can hide them behind the walls so you can get the CBTC feel. just make the .runinterval line is not 120 or lower.
-
Keep up the amazing work trainbrain. Can't wait to see the finish route :) :D ;D

UPDATE TRACKS IN THE TUNNELS
(http://oi49.tinypic.com/ilc1w7.jpg)
-
the tunnels are you going to make em real with those iron rods
-
Nice. Did you fix the elevated level? Especially around Sutter to Atlantic Ave?
-
nah I didn't because of my lack of knowledge/info about that section of the L
right now im just focusing on the underground section.

THE FIRST PHOTOREALISTIC WALLS (not done yet) :)

Wow... this is excellent. It's time for the (L) to move into 4th/5th Generation route territory.
-
just wondering will there be a cbtc and a manual announcement version

UPDATE TRACKS IN THE TUNNELS
(http://oi49.tinypic.com/ilc1w7.jpg)
btw make it say Avenue not Avenune.
-
Looking good! You should use the latest object pack from Tjay though, since those objects you used are a bit outdated now.
-
I believe mr railfan can take care of the annoucements so don't worry about that.
-
Looks very good! Keep it up!
-
new track on the elevated portion of the line.

just wondering will there be a cbtc and a manual announcement version
F train fan
I am planning on having one version that uses the R42 (manual anncs, recorded by me) and one version that uses the R143/160 with automated anncs. The R143 route I hope to include ATC/ATO
-
(SIR NORTH SHORE LINE, IF YOU SEE THIS PLEASE PM ME.)
I plan to update the car objects for the r143 that are in the route now (since they are not very accurate). i hope to use SIR's R143 objs if he gives permission

You can find even higher quality R143's here:
http://www.openbveconnect.com/page.php?6 (http://www.openbveconnect.com/page.php?6)
Those would go better with the route.
-
I'm so eager to play this route!! ;D I wish there was a face for eagerness.
Keep up the good work trainbrain.

Those would go better with the route.
I'll have to ask PuertoRican88's permission for those...
but I'll try-those are very nice car objects and would look great as static trains.
(I MIGHT EVEN ADD ANIMATED TRAINS, LIKE IN THE (A) AND THE (F) :)
-
Are you goin to add proper timers and speed limits?
-
Are you goin to add proper timers and speed limits?
The L hasn't had timers since CBTC and speed limits are displayed in the cab (I WILL USE A PLUGIN FOR THIS)
If I do an R42 pre-CBTC version, I will have timers and speed limits.

Even though these are unofficial, these track maps may help you fix the area around Broadway Junction:

will this be the full route?
-
will this be the full route?
Yes it will be the Full L from:
Rockaway Parkway,Brooklyn to 8th Av,Manhattan. :P :o 8)
-
I am not sure how easy this is, but one idea is that you should update the grass. I haven't been out there for a LONG LONG time, since they had that one R42 running on the (L), but I believe the texture for that is some kind of gravel. Just adding my 2 cents.

I'm sorry haven't been here for a long time...
That's great to hear another (L) train route being developed! The version I have is the original route by Edward Yee, and it's a really good thing to hear about a new, more realistic (L) route being developed!
-
NOTICE PLEASE READ
I have emails and PMs about BETA testing: as of now I do not need any BETA testers.
Also, I will need CONTRIBUTIONS of info about the line between Canarsie and Myrtle. If anyone could maybe get video/pix of the route and stations that would be MUCH appreciated. (signal placement, track types, surrounding details.)
AND NOW, AN UPDATE ON THE UPDATING THAT I AM SURE U WANT:
I am working to bring details into the underground section (Do Not Enter signs, exits {photoreal}, photoreal walls and other signs in the tunnels {i.e. WARNING AUTOMATIC OPERATION IN EFFECT and EXIT>100 M.
MORE SCREENSHOTS AND INFO ON THE WAY SOON, STAY TUNED!!!
-
Sounds nice. Damn, I wish I could contribute, but I don't live in NYC :-\

yep i was gonna do that I don't like that grass anyway
-
@Train: Contact me via PM on the BDC website and I'll supply you the information you need.
-
CONTRIBUTIONS ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED!!
At this point, the (L) updating project is entirely reliant on contributions from the BVEStation community. I need pictures & videos of the line between Canarsie and Myrtle Avenue.
-
I dont know if this helps but it has info and loads of pics of every station.

I am restarting work. Expect a fully detailed Myrtle Ave coming soon.
I am obtaining shots for 8th Ave.
Like it?
