Newly Refurbished Hong Kong Trams are now in service. I must admit, it's a funny combination of old style construction, and newly installed propulsion and interiors. Credits to hkvvvf.

LOL I actually live in the NY metro area, but my family hails from HK, so I do keep regular tabs on that area. A quick check on the MTR website reveals pretty good news actually, from 1500 open jobs at the company, to the placement of the first new C Train set into revenue service last night (http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/corporate/file_rep/PR-11-108-E.pdf (http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/corporate/file_rep/PR-11-108-E.pdf)). So with the accounted time difference, the set has been operating for about 8 hours now. 港鐵 KTL C-Train C359 彩虹至黃大仙 ( 錄音 ) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I98mVTpZU8#)
EDIT: There is also apparently an openBVE model of the train exterior out already... sounds haven't been updated yet though....

Yep, although for me, listening to the mixed announcements on MTR trains for so long has allowed me to understand some of the mandarin used there =P

Jay Walder be getting props there, as he's going in at a time where they're adding service, with plentiful of funds. Unlike the MTA, poor and broke with the most powerful union upping their a**.
