Title: Strip Maps for BVE Routes
Post by: Lance on January 01, 2011, 09:28:05 am
As many of you guys already know, over the past several months, I created a strip map showing all the routes (real and fictional) that have been created for BVE and hosted on this site. The map was based on the old strip maps that were found on the back of the MTA maps from 1979-'95. I've also created line maps for each route based on the ones found on the R142s and R143s.

Great strip maps, is it just the R142A/143 or are there any ones like the R110 R160 etc

@Allyn65: I saw your question the first time; there's no need to repeat it. I just forgot to respond to it. I didn't include the (8) line in the strip maps or individual line maps because the line doesn't really follow any real pattern. When I was plotting the stops of all the fictional and non-fictional lines on Google Maps, this line jumps from one area to the next without any real logic to it.

@Williamster17: I'm not sure of your question, but if you mean are there FIND-style maps like the ones found on the R160s, then no and I currently have no intention of making any as they take way too long to create, especially for the longer routes.

The R110 is just the line with the stops painted into a white plastic pretty much...

Okay, never mind that above, but on the Strip Map(Enormous Map), it says the H 8th Ave Express Line is finished. Is that true? If it is, a link please? That would be cool. 8)

Do you have a template available for download? I would like to learn how to create this. How and what program did you use? I must say that's the best imagery I have seen. 2011 is bringing out the good stuff.

@tvega: I think TFI was talking about the actual (HL) route, which is available here (http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/7/22/2015255/NYCT-HL.rar). Please be advised that it's still a beta route and will only work in BVE2. If you try it on BVE4 or openBVE, you'll get a boatload of errors.

Yeah in the HL BETA that I released, only half the lines' signals were finished, it was made for BVE2 only, and it required the 1969 Franklin Shuttle and Crosstown (G). The newer one will require no dependencies and will be compatible for all versions of BVE.

@Lance: Could I request a new HL strip map, if that's okay with you? The route map is http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=118287741362528402355.00048eec9ced9d37fa1f7&z=11 (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=118287741362528402355.00048eec9ced9d37fa1f7&z=11)  here, if you need it.

-The express goes from Parkchester to Kings Plaza(does not make stops at Elder, or between Astoria and LIC).
-The local starts at Astoria and branches off into Manhattan.

I suggest you make the map and then probab ly submit it to Lance. Most of the content is his so its kinda like a official page for his work. Unless your displaying something like what BStyles did above.

@TFI: What kind of map are you talking about?

@Lance: Not talking to you, to ConeyIslandDFNQ

Is it okay with you if this is a place where we could put our own maps on?

Really?

Wait, Private Message it? Or message it here? Because anyway is fine to me.

Post it here, if Lance can make it he will let you know. Unless your creating a route and your making a generic map of the stops your going to make then you can follow what BStyles did. Other than that you might as well get 100% quality images from Lance
