MTA Rules of Conduct Petition

I would advise every person here to sign this petition for posting the Rules of Conduct in NYCT Subway cars and buses.
It would finally put an end to the harassment of railfans trying to take pictures, something that we have been trying to attain for some time now.

I would like to remind everyone who can, please sign the petition. Despite how it appears here, railfanning is a small niche hobby, and needs protection from incidents such as these that can cause people to leave the hobby

Just asking, does this petition relate to photography in the subways/bus system or MTA rules in general

Btw its a good thing that you created this petition, because if there were to be an argument between an MTA employee and a railfanner, I think that the employee isn't aware of his/her rules of conduct.

Ive seen some videos on youtube where an employee complains about that you shouldnt be taking pictures/videos of the train or bus. Ive also seen some other videos where a police officer walks literally right by or stands near a railfanner taking videos/non-flash pictures of subways and buses, and they don't complain at all !

It mostly pertains to photography, but it technically applies to the entire MTA rules of conduct. Besides photography, there have been other similar events such as blind people being disallowed to have personal assistance animals (mostly dogs) with them on subways and buses.

oh yea i forget about one thing about something....

why the police doesn't take news cameraman's camera away? that's cheating....

or just they pay to police to let film subway/buses?

anyone have idea why?

I swear some Police officers and employees are smart, and some are total dumbasses.

IRT Subway: Bronx Bound MOW train with R22s (Yellow) trains at 125th Street
the officer in this video doesnt seem to notice that its legal to take videos/pictures of the MTA systems. (With restrictions) Skip to 3:05


IND: R160 (E)(F) Train at 57th St with Stupid Teens making a Commotion on the (E)![HD VIdeo]
and the officer that came off the R160 F literally did nothing, minding his own business and continued on with his job.

To show proof that its purely 100% legal to take pictures/videos, id show this to a person who complains

Its really a gamble, sometimes people will know the rules and not bother you, sometimes they make a massive stink about it. The problem is, there should be no gamble in the first place.

Not to start anything, but maybe some police have the fear that the video takers might be linked to terrorism and want to avoid another attack.

They have media passes... media passes give you special privileges lol. I can't remember when and where, but I remember a few years ago right before a hurricane down south a reporter was saying that anybody without a media pass would have been arrested.
