NYCTA Projects / (WIP) JFK Express Development thread
« on: May 24, 2013, 06:42:39 pm »
I am announcing another of my projects starting now:

While I test ATO plugin systems and build the train for my (T) line, I will be starting

the JFK Express
(a.k.a Train to the Plane)

I thought this route would be a welcome addition to the BVE routes we have.

Anybody willing to assist is welcome, simply drop me a PM or email trainbrain@outlook.com.

My estimated release date is mid- to late-summer, however it may be released before or after that date depending on how long it takes and how much time I have.

Station textures for the 8th Ave Line south of West 4th Street and the Fulton Street line between High Street and Rockaway Blvd would be appreciated.

Screenshots will be posted here as work progresses.

How about using SketchUp? Unfortunatley, cab shots will not work becuase this cab will be entirely fictional. But I will try out the other software that you suggest.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Creating a replica cab-assistance?

Hello all,
I would like to know the basics of creating a replica cab for use in OpenBVE, and specifically in my northbound (T) 2nd Ave Line route.
What programs to use? Tips and tricks?

Please help

Indeed this is quite a exquisite exterior you're making here.

Well, I was looking through the forums and found this...

I recommend using the OS_ATS1.dll or UKSpt.dll plugins. Both of these plugins support a vigilance device, which is used on the UK trains.

BTW I would love to help with the R143, perhaps get textures for the exterior/interior and observe the CBTC screen as i ride the L alot

Correct. They are very similar, but are not the same font.

Ohhh.....I see the difference.

would it be difficult to modify the trucks for the Pre-GOH r32 so that they look like the original as well?

Don't forget the LCL / EXP signs and the different number plates (which use the same font as on the R38)

I got this route (not the latest version) and I am super impressed!! Keep up the great work Mr. Railfan!

Ok I got open bve downloaded but a whole bunch of files on my on desktop n the openbve Icon when I click to open it says openbve encountered a problem n needs to close so if u dont mind and if you time can you walk me through please.

Make a folder on your desktop called OpenBve.
Download the program with the complete source code, and extract all of it in to that folder.
Please make a list and post here all the .dll files and all the folders and I will tell you if you are missing stuff.
(I had this problem too ;))

OpenBve Really needs to get a proper installer like Bve2 and Bve4 do, alot of people get confused with OpenBve and all its files

I totally agree. When I got BVE 2 to begin (and later BVE 4) the installers are very simple. But with OpenBVE, I was confused with all the source code files floating around in a folder
