TILTING TRAIN HELP
« on: March 20, 2011, 05:44:41 pm »
hi all,

recently me and Al came up with the working bogie's, we also have one with working wheels but not fully done as yet, but now we are wanting to know can we make her tilt.?

we already know we can group a single car into a .animated file (like you would do with a door) so that we can assure the bogies will stay fixed to the track, but now we are trying to understand if we could implement the "toppling/derailing" method into the train? (example being going round a corner at 50mph is okay, and the simulator makes the train stay fixed to the ground,but then take it at 65mph and you get a 30 degree topple off the rails in the opposite direction to the corner "derailing" but then take the same corner yet again at 80mph you will get the train toppling so far over your under the ground)

we are wanting to try to make it so the animated file will let the train tilt only a certain amount of degree's at a certain speed....

and the higher the speed the greater the tilt? but with a maximum tilt of lets say 13 degree's (so there's no spilt coffee)

some thing along the lines of;

bogie = (csvfile)
car = (.animated)
bogie = (csvfile)

does anyone have any info on how the .animated files work
or on how the source code of the derailment works?

maybe a plug in could be made if no other options are available?
