Sorry, I got confused when I read this. I thought this was the thread for your extension. Silly me lol :D
-
I think the (F) would be perfect just don't put dang timers in the tunnels :)
-
I think the (F) would be perfect just don't put dang timers in the tunnels :)
Well,I don't blame you but I rather have timers in the future bve routes whether it'll take months to perfect more realism in a route but it'll keep the operators who like fast operate more professional b\c if you run a timer chances are you're gonna run a red.
-
Yeah I would rather have timers if it makes it more realistic.
-
Agreed, there should be timers. Maybe not in this release, but maybe in a future one when people understand an easier way to put them in.
-
I don't mean to be a bother but will thier be two route files. For example R160.csv and R46.csv, or R160 Siemens.csv and R42.csv, etc?
-

1.Their should be at least 2 route files 1 consisting of NYCT-F with automated announcements which is powered by the R160 whether its a Siemens or Alstom.
The other should be NYCT-F manual announcements powered by the SMEE fleet(R32,38,40,42,44,46,68/A) whatever.
2.And maybe the F extension will be included as a seperate route file

Huh? He is making the 179 St-bound (F) line.
-
but doesnt it say it is to 271st street??
-
That's after 179... The *fake* part is after 179...
-
If I recall correctly, the fictional extension to 271 St will be an optional addition to the normal route.
-
oh okay,thanks for the heads-up ;)

Nice pics! It only gets better and better with each set. I wish Parsons blvd was that clean!
Will the CI-179th route have auto-announcements though? The F line announcements are definitely my favorite.
-
hey jayjay85, how will the Gowanus Viaduct be modeled? (as in pre, post, or during reconstruction)
really impressive work jayjay85! Can't wait for this one! ;D

It should since I have the Queens-bound (F) announcements. Unfortunately, they're for the weekend since I don't have the transfers for the weekdays because of the service changes last June.

Do u mind sending me those announcements?
-
Which ones do you have? I may be able to fill in the missing ones since I'm a frequent weekday rider of the F.
-
@Kevin: Basically, I need all the arrival announcements in Manhattan and the one for Jackson Hts since those transfers have changed this past June.

-

It could be... MARTA's switches are long too... This is a really interesting route btw...
-
Must be a high speed switch? I remember when my train went over those switches, but I dont remember how fast it went. :P
Theres another switch thats not long its actually short the one after 59th St decending via 53rd St (B)(D) they leave that station like they're going straight and they wrap around that curve coming in 7th Av w/o braking still.
-
Its nice to see some long switches. I hate it when I go over an extremely short switch and i go through walls and signals :P.

cause the limit is 25, that's not a short switch either but it still needs a lot of upkeep

Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)
-
Very nice! Can't wait to play the full route since the (F) is one of my favorite lines.
I don't mean to be rude, but can you ease on the customers at Bay Pkwy? It's not a heavily used station. Let alone the section from Ditmas to Stillwell.

OK that's a bit overkill.
Can't you just be satisfied with the route as is? he's worked hard enough on it.

those railings are TJay's
i forgot take those people out of Bay Parkway that was in place since 2008
-

Of course I'm satisfied. The (F) is one of the best routes on this site, I'm just trying to give Jay some friendly advice, which doesn't have to be implemented.
-
I'm just trying to give Jay some friendly advice, which doesn't have to be implemented.
There's a fine line between friendly advice and just being a perfectionist, especially when you can do it yourself if you want it that bad...
The (F) is one of the best routes on this site.
If it's one of the best routes why can't you just let it be and drive it?
-
Ok, back on topic, whatever the developer does to the route is at their discretion, if he feels like implementing any changes then he'll add it. The routes won't be a %100 like the real thing anyways for security reasons and limitatons.
-
Great job on the (F).But I want to point out a few things.
1.The (F) doesn't stop that close at Jay Street same as the (A) its about 30 feet from the 10 car to the tower in the route the (F) is right on it.
2.East Broadway there's an escalator going up nearing the end of the station.
3.The (F) doesn't stop that close at 2nd Av and is there a possibility we'll see a control room on the side?
4.York street isn't the 3rd rail on the platform side due to the clearance b\c of the way the station wall is? Samething with High & Fulton on the (A)/(C) but I could be wrong.
Overall (F)antastic route.

How can the route be fantastic if you have issues with it? These kinds of statements never made any sense to me, but whatever. Honestly, they're trivial and irrelevant issues. The route was coded accurately, using subway track maps, and besides.
Ok, back on topic, whatever the developer does to the route is at their discretion, if he feels like implementing any changes then he'll add it. The routes won't be a %100 like the real thing anyways for security reasons and limitatons.
Can that be stressed enough?
Sometimes I wonder if people actually deserve what they get. Honestly speaking, after a few years development did you want the line out or not? We can't remember what goes on en every single station of the route we're working on, and that's why we have dedicated people to acquire this information prior to release.
And another thing. I can easily see if the line was 100% done and it was something we could release in say, a fix. In case you haven't noticed, Jay Street wasn't even re-branded in the F route that was released FOUR DAYS AGO. And since the author is still working on the route from Stillwell to 179th, and has been for some time now, it's clearly visible that time wasn't going to wait for the route. At least a hundred other things have changed on the F since development, which will hopefully get done by the time the line is fully released.
Bottom line: the route ain't done, so just deal with it.
BStyles
-
nice job ;D, you got my favorite portion of the F (34th Street-Herald Square to Roosevelt Ave). ' can't wait for the route to be fully done. I can see a NYCTBA run with the F, V, G, and maybe future R and E train lol.
-

That's why you got people like me and 2, so we can TELL you guys what's inaccurate or not. You can consider us those dedicated people. Plus, if it wasn't for 2, then would you guys have eventually found out that York has the 3rd rail on the platform side? Probably, but we're saving you one extra beta/alpha/whatever release.
Plus, make no mistake, JayJay's (F) is the sickest route that's out right now (with respect to all others), been driving it nonstop everything. We're just trying to correct portions of it so when the final route is released, you won't have others questioning why something is inaccurate and making Version 1.1A.

There actually is no real need for BETA releases in that sense, I don't even know why BETAs have become so widespread lately. Obviously in order to get the textures for the stations, someone had to have gone out and gotten pics of everything. That covers the detail portion there. There's being helpful and then there's just being picky

Agreed! He's only trying to help JayJay out, not criticize the route or anything.

My request in using TJay's railings was picky. I admit to that. However, BStyles reaction to 2train's list of discrepancies was uncalled for, and if that is considered picky, then I guess all members who realize that something is off in a route should shut up then. That's the message that is being conveyed.
-
one quick question, sorry for being off topic, but when ever i play the R160 version of the F, i arrive @ york st. and the announcement saying " This is york street " doesnt play. Instead when i arrive @ E-Bway it says " This is York St ". instead of E-Bway, How do you fix this?
-
That actually has to be done in the code...

Well. I think what he meant was that he was contradicting his self when he said it was fantastic then put a whole load of problems
--------
But anyway, great route regardless JayJay.

1) The arrival announcement for York St might not have been coded in and if that's the case, it won't play.
2) As to your second query, that's my fault. When I zipped the announcements, I named "East Broadway" as "York St". That error has since been corrected. You can download the proper announcement here (http://www.4shared.com/audio/CUjNO70Y/EBway_arr.html).

F culver Express in action
one question, is this a static train or is this part of Error46146's project of his R46 that your using or both?
-
It's just an object, just like the R160 objects. However, if I'm mistaken, it will become the exterior/interior for the R44 and R46 trains (in development).
-
It's the R46 exterior / interior view that is in development by JayJay.
Great job JayJay!

Just tried out the newest F and there's just a couple of things, qb local is missing, use -1 for stations that open on the left side, and the switch at Ditmas is set for the express.

QB local will be added later

I'll also add some more stuff to the Stillwell roof I sent you. A little more detail, bars for lights, etc.

I am ver new to this so I do not know where to go
for the answer to my questions.
I am also new to BVE so I really do not know what
I am doing so I hope someone could help me.
I am attempting to run the "F", "2", "V", and the"A"
lines but I get a run time message and I am missing trains.
I am assuming I have items out of place but am not sure.
I downloaded and extracted everything to the directories that
I assumed they might be in but I go no where. Plua the .7z files,
I have no clue where to put them. :'( :'(
Some one help please. I am a train fanatic and is from NYC. This
would be the best thing someone has done for me recently.
Thanks

Ok, here we go again.
For the 2, the R142 has been removed from the internet there for find a alternate train to use.
For your 7zip files, Download 7zip. Whenever you download it, go to the folder it's in, right click and do extract with 7zip into the correct folder(s)
For files, everything should be a EXE on this site so you just gotta download the exe and install. Thats all.
-
To start this off, are you using regular BVE, or OpenBVE?
-
I am not sure which program I have, I know the tab image is a blue "b". As to the .7z files, I have extracted them but it ask where I want them and I have no idea where to put them. I know the .7z files are some type of dependency files. I am having the up most issues with those files and where to put them.

Ok I suppose its BVE 2 or 4 since Openbve has a gray (B) and more options.
Now if you downloaded the stuff its there. You may need to open some files and put the downloaded stuff on your desktop and drag it in the right folder.
So you have to find your main BVE folder which will have signals bve the program itself and other things you'll click Railway then you'll see objects, routes & train and you may even see routes hanging in there in .rw or .csv
But I honestly think you should redownload everything b\c there will be a lot of over writing files b\c many routes use similar objects aka dependencies.I would start with the (2) since its an independent route and its in exe format and keep in mind there is not an R-142 available.
-
You'll have to use BRR to run the routes
-
Ok Where can I get different trains to run the two line. Also it says it has a dependency. A .7z file also.... Once extracted Where do I put that file. Oh I unistalled the blue BVE and installed the Silver one.......
-
You werent supposed to. You have to have the Blue on to use the Silver one.
The Blue one is BVE2 ok? The Silver one is OpenBVE. You MUST have the blue one to run the silver one. So reinstall EVERYTHING.
-
Ok so I have all the files from the blue BVE2 on my computer still, just the program to run the game is not installed.
So far I have ran the 2 train from brooklyn till 42 street using the R142A. Now the question is where do I put the dependency files when they are needed for example the Dependency file for the 2 train was 2to42nd.7z. When I am extracting this file, where do I extract it too?

Actually you DON"t need the blue one. Whether you install it or not is your discretion. I used openBVE plenty of X's w/o BVE2 actually on my machine

This post, thumbs up.
You don't need BVE 2 or BVE 4 to run OpenBVE, you however will need OpenBVE's dependencies which should be 2 .dll files listed on their site's directions.
-
I have them and my openbve work fine, I am just wondering where I extract the .7z files too.
Do they go into the BVe folder, the railways, routes, or objects folder?
-

The Routes go in the Route folder INSIDE the BVE folder, Objects in the object folder INSIDE the BVE folder, and Sounds in the sound folder INSIDE the BVE folder ;)
-
@bve - That somewhat helps, you have to remember the .7z files have everything combined.
If anything, the .7z files should be extracted to your C:/Program Files/BVE/Railway folder or wherever that you have the BVE folder saved to. You extracted it there because in most cases the .7z file is one folder with the "Object," "Route," and "Sounds" folder combined. It'll all follow through and extract to the right places.

Ladies and Gentleman i would like to say that i have been updating the F line for quite some time [With JayJays permission of course ] and wanted to make a public announcement on the Subject.
Version 5 of the F line will include Tjays signal pack and a bunch of custom timers i created . The main updates of Version 5 will Include:

Please expect more News and updates in the coming weeks as i will be updating my progress .

Thats awesome! Quick question that (F) via 6th Av Exp run via local?
In other words an express train running via local tracks or will it diverge on to the 6th Av Exp tracks?
-

as it stands right now , it will run EXP via LCL , but if i get signal info for the express , i can code it to make it diverge to the express.

I'm guessing this route will not be updated with Tjay's objects: http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/schematics0/ (http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/schematics0/) ?

It will also run local after 71st,right?

as of right now it runs express after 71 but i will include a Queens Blvd Local which will run local until 71av

Yeah, I've been wondering about this too. Will this feature tjay's el and underground track upgrades?
-

i havent updated it yet but i might update it with the new objects [Tunnel track , Beams etc. ] I have noticed a large reduction in FPS once a route uses them so thats why i havent implemented them yet.
-
They are FPS killers indeed the tunnels are fine enough but its your decision ;)
-
It is because of the complex textures of the objects, combined with the many polygons. It depends on your graphics card whether they cause lag or not
-
I think it would definitely be a nice addition to add in the updated tracks and tunnels. Maybe you can add a high poly/ low poly edition that way we get the best of both worlds.
-
Is the F going to stop at 75 Ave and Brairwood Van wych Blvd
-
If given an option the best thing to do would be to offer a high res and low res version, but for future-proofing the best thing to do is to release it with TJay's objects.
-
Hey Mr.RailFan is there going your R160 for this route.
-
Hey Mr.RailFan is there going your R160 for this route.
If you are trying to say "Is your R160 going to be released for this route" then most likely yes. I have sent my most recent R160 to error today and that should be out before im finished updating this route 8)
-
Sorry but that what I ment but thanks ;D
-
Hey Emil, I am really looking foward to all these different things that you and the bvestation staff will add in the F (V5). The (F) is my most favorite line in the whole MTA system and its the train that takes me to school everyday. I am looking foward to this so I would like to wish everyone who is working on this the best of luck :)

im glad i can help make the community better ;)
On a different note ,i made some more progress on the F. I have coded the F so that there will be a version that runs local after Roosevelt avenue all the way to 179st .
Also on the via 53st scenario the F will run local all the way to 71av from queens plaza where it will either :
switch to the express and run express to 179 or run local the rest of the way to 179.
In total there are going to be ALOT of route scenarios to choose from.
-
Well done Emil, finally the (F) could run local after 71st. Keep up the good work. Im also looking foward to driving that r160 of yours.:)
-
I am assuming there will be a scenario with automated announcements too, like the old version?
-
I am assuming there will be a scenario with automated announcements too, like the old version?
Of course 8) . that is the whole point on me sorting the routes into Rush hour ,weekend , late night and weekday . This way I implemented proper announcements for each scenario. No more hearing transfer for the B and Z trains if your running a late night route . ;)
There will also be a manual announcement version to each route so that older equipment [SMEEs , non NTT trains] can run properly.
-
Will 3rd rail gaps be put in on this route: http://ameryka.strefa.pl (http://ameryka.strefa.pl) ?
-
Will 3rd rail gaps be put in on this route?
on the SMEE version - yes ,even though alot of smee's have batteries to prevent power loss .
NTT version - no , the NTTS have a battery that prevents the loss of power .
-
Just to clear things up, the SMEE Version is the one with the manual announcements, and the NTT version is the one with the automated ones, right?

Just fyi, but NTT's still lose traction and HVAC power when going over third rail gaps.

A quick Update :
Just finished updating the Culver Express , 6ave Local -63st connector , and queens blvd express with timers and updated signals. They have also been updated with Brightness command .
Next thing im working on is :
Updating the culver local and queens blvd local [Roosevelt avenue - 179st ]with timers , updated signals and Brightness Command .
This will then be followed by updating the F reroute Via 53st connector and the remainder of the queens blvd local [Queens Plaza - Roosevelt avenue]
If all goes well i might even include a crosstown reroute scenario 8) , but thats pushing it so please dont get your hopes up. :P
-
Sounds great. A question, can you also make a Brooklyn bound (F) too? Because that would be great.
-
Great updates the Culver should take no more than maybe 10 minutes to add timers to since there are not even 5.
Maybe one or two after W8th clear all the way to Smith-9th then a few going downhill and some btwn Bergen and Jay.
-
Will the next version also include the replacement of the older objects with tjay's newer ones? Or will that come in a later release?
-

yes currently Imanuel is trying to create a brooklyn bound version , at least up to church avenue .

yes the timers shouldn't be a problem , but replacing all the regular signals , homeballs , placing in repeater signals where necessary and adding in the brightness command all take some time .
Will the next version also include the replacement of the older objects with tjay's newer ones? Or will that come in a later release?
yes there will be some objects that will be replaced with tjays objects and multiple objects i create . im not sure about tunnel walls yet .

Question Will there be a F via the C line?
-
Question Will there be a F via the C line?
The Original routes needs to be done 1st at least before G.O's come in the picture since there is no Manhattan bound (A) or (C) if there was it would be totally possibly if you mean S/B the (E)(F) needs to obviously be completed from the terminals upto about Queens Plaza and if someone can make the connection for via Court Sq and connect the route to the (G) it would be a blast (F) via Queens Blvd Exp or LCL via Crosstown to Smith-9th.
