NYCTA Projects / Re: (WIP) Official Update Thread for the R44
« on: December 17, 2014, 04:36:53 pm »
Is this R44 going to feature Fan Railer's WH 1447J motor sound?

You mean you threw in the new code after you deleted the old code?

You're supposed to entirely delete the old motor sound code from the existing train.dat and replace it with the new code that's in the download pack.

Oh ok.  :o

I added on the new code to the old code, it seemed to work fine so I left it like that, but I'll heed your advice and see how it goes.

Did you unzip EVERYTHING (and I mean everything) from the package?

Nice work! That screaming sound is my childhood, I grew up with the screaming WH 1447J on the Q in the dinosaur age when R68/A Q trains were a thing.

I'm trying to install this pack, I dropped the motor sounds into the directory (and told Windows to replace files when prompted) and deleted the old motor code in TRAIN.DAT and threw in the old one (of course, after wisely making a backup). It still sounds the same, are we supposed to add the MOTOR_P(x)/MOTOR_B(x) code or replace it?

Content Development / Installing SiTrac and Westinghouse Propulsion Systems
« on: November 06, 2014, 08:05:25 pm »
So, tomorrow I'm going to be installing the SiTrac and Westinghouse propulsion system for OpenBVE, on the R160 and R68 respectively.

How would I go about installing the Westinghouse propulsion system? I heard something about copying motor files and editing train.dat, but I'm at a loss of what to do. I heard from Fan Railer in a YT comment that you copy the motor and brake sound files and then edit MOTOR_P1, MOTOR_P2, BRAKE_B1, and BRAKE_B2 by copying the respective lines from the train.dat in the archive to the current train.dat for the train folder. Is that it, or is there more to it than that?

I have the SiTrac thing down pat, I'm simply going to copy the files from the 7z archive from Fan Railer and then throw it in a directory.

Thanks for any replies in advance!

Amazed to see my home line (Neck Road Q) get so much attention! I can't wait for the release of this route.

You have to reprogram the route.

Read up on the ".sta" command here (courtesy of Kevin):

Thanks for the helpful information! I'll probably reprogram the route tomorrow, do you know where I can post the modified route and possibly have the (2) installer modified with it?
Yea that's not a door issue it's a route issue. That usually how the old routes were

Thanks!

I can't give a projected release date as we both have busy lives outside of openBVE. However work is being done on a regular basis. Just give it time.

If you wanna try out the updated Q line with the realistic rendering at 34th and 14th, come to the museum on Saturdays this summer. People have been enjoying it a lot!

Is the new Q available for download as of yet? I'm rather busy w/ summer school prepping for the SHSAT so I haven't any time to go to the museum, although I would.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / (2) door issue

When I do the (2) line in OpenBVE with the R142A, I always have to open  the door on the right at each station even if the platform is on the left. Is there a remedy to this issue?

26
Dat realistic render of 34th and 14th tho...is there a projected date for public release of the D to CI among the others?

why hello threxx
long time no hear from you
i will try a reinstall now

it's probably the fact that the hard disk on this PC is about maybe 5-6 years old.
it's amazing that BVE can run on a 6 year old pc running windows XP on a core2 u7600 @ 1.20 ghz

EDIT:
The R68 does NOT work on my computer. I get a white background and it only shows the throttle and brake valve of the train along with the speedometer on said white background.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Graphics & Files Not Found
« on: July 14, 2013, 05:09:38 pm »
Hello there.

I am experiencing strange problems with BVE.
Whenever I start a route occasionally where the "Loading...Please Wait" bar will be there is an image from the BVE folder, such as the interior of a train. When I use the R46 there are mutilated, squashed pictures of the front of an R160. In addition, there are often, but not always, File Not Found errors.

Thank you for your help in advance.

You are more than welcome to request more tech specs if needed.

Hey, I'm back with a question!
Will installing OpenGL help OpenBVE?
