Game booster
« on: February 03, 2012, 06:56:14 pm »
Hey guys, any of you have used game booster? i was wondering does it work and will it over time damage my system. I'm only looking for a 10-15 fps boost for a soft body physics program i use. My computer is extremely good with openBVE and was built within the last 7 months.

Gamebooster will give you an extra 5 fps at best, not an extra 15.

If your computer is good with openBVE, then why would you even need Gamebooster?

well if youve ever played Rigs of rods.(really great crash testing and vechical simulator) it lags when using highly detailed cars trucks. but i dont understand it..........i get what looks like 80fps with openbve but 15-30fps with ROR     Rigs of Rods - Slow Motion Crashes [HD]               i need it to run this smooth

openBVE is not that demanding as ROR. If your running the game at High settings then try lowering them.

I have Rigs of Rods as well on my system, which is very fast and can run the D line at 100 FPS.

On Rigs of Rods, I rarely get above 20 FPS.
Rigs of Rods only really uses 1 core (sometimes 2 depending on how it is feeling lol). I don't mean to bash the developers of ROR or anything but frankly it is very inefficient with CPU usage.

If your computer is really crappy, then Gamebooster will basically be useless to you.

ah ok i was wondering why i was getting around 20 fps lol but im not the only one, i guess its the way it was built. right now with the CH54 im clocking 23fps so i guess im straight and i dont need gamebooster.

Yeah even my system lags on it an I have a massive tower with two dual core server processors.
Rigs of Rods effectively only uses one CPU core most of the time so unless you have a massively fast CPU you will get horrid framerates.
