NYCTA Projects / Re: (WIP) Official Update Thread for the R10(1948-1989)
« on: September 30, 2014, 12:44:48 am »
So this is how the NYC Subway trains looked like before my time. Great job Mud on the VERY realistic graphics!!!!

122
Since school has started back for me, coding will be done on weekends and breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, etc.) and any free time I may have. In the works:
adding textures to the canopies to make it more realistic
adding station items (conductors board, R110 board, seats, bins, sandbox, etc)
buildings and streets (Woodhaven, Liberty)
More screenshots when significant progress is made.

Other Projects / Re: Vertices

Oh, but what if you're trying train develop, does it still need to be a lot of vertices?
There are as many vertices that are needed to create different 3d objects. For most objects, you need a minimum of 4 3d vertices for any object. If the object is curved, you would need 5 sections of 4 3d vertices. If the object is straight, 4 3d vertices are needed.

Wow even the rust! Keep up the good work Mud!

Well to start you need to understand the code written in the route. to help with that process, go here to the BveStation Wiki page to understand the different parts of the route and to other links to help code the route that you want to build. Make sure you have RouteViewer from here and unzip the files and place them in your OpenBVE directory. You will use Routeviewer to help you see the route and the changes you make to the route file without opening OpenBVE.

This is awesome news! One question that I have is that since the line is being updated, will the objects in the 8thave and lefshut change or will the objects be dependent on the LisaRaye2 folder? Only reason I am asking is because my project will eventually intersect with yours and I could create 1 folder for both the southbound and northbound part between Lefferts and Euclid

are you saying that for example you can run the train from Coney island to 179, and then back to Coney Island?

129
When is the next train arriving at 1am?

Curved Canopies are in place at rockaway and the stairs to/from the platforms are next

104th Street is starting to look a lot more smoother around the edges....

131
Yeah, I learned my lesson the first time  ;)

132
Progress has been slow because I had to start from scratch. At the moment screenshots of each station:

Lefferts Blvd

111th Street

104th Street curved platform canopies are a WIP

Rockaway Blvd curved platform canopies are a WIP

88th Street

80th Street

Each station is approxiametely 50% complete. Once I have fully completed the elevated stations, I will start working on Grant and Euclid. More screenshots coming soon!!

If you downloaded the previous version in a package (7z, .exe, .dmg for macs) then u can overwrite the data in the folder to go back to the previous version.

I am slowly starting (from scratch) the A to Euclid again and a preview of Lefferts:

As you can see, only Lefferts has been started. Once my original thread is unlocked, progress on this line will be placed there. my original thread:
