Question...

Who's making manual announcements for this line for the R62as that will run? If no one's gonna do it, I'll take it. I can record and dub in about a day.

Whenever I am with Danny Express I practice on the R68's on Concourse I can do voices too.

Compromise time lol

I know I'm not really in charge of the route, but shit hopefully I can convince one of them to do two different versions, like a rush-hour (with battery runs) and an off hour regular. Kinda like the G or something.

It's do-able, but for now were just focusing on the normal 1 line.

Hey guys, I know it's been months since an update on the route, but I finally got around to doing some more coding on the route itself instead of making and fixing objects here and there.

Rector's done, as soon as I get some more textures from Rayvon we'll have a few more stations on the completed list. Enjoy!

I see you twig, making intellectual posts again lol. Good luck Manny
I been sleeping on the site, I had to get my swag back lmao.

There's a track map (no signals though) of Atlantic to the bridge, the track work is pretty intricate through there, try your best lol

Makes you appreciate the things you take for granted and the fact that tomorrow isn't promised, and how far some people will really go to save lives. RIP

To answer everyones statements and comments:

@ipac & Twigga : I couldnt post up in the real section but it will be official. I'll send it to yall for review. Yes I dont need everyone to complain about routes that arent done so I am gonna jumpstart it now that I have coding skills.

@ Everyone else: The line is real with no extra details. When I release it, everyone will get it, who ever takes the job of detailing it be my guest.

Like I said it is a smart idea to do that to quiet those impatient people, but still there should at least be an official version seeing as we have almost all the objects to make it possible now (and not everyone that's gonna download it is gonna know how to code, and will come right back here wanting everyone to teach them how to) and a version for people to start from scratch and screw around with to their liking.

Not everyone knows how to develop though lol. There should at least be a regular one in development and a skeleton version as a bonus or something.

Smart, if you only give them the skeleton, it'll shut people up about when the route will come out, because they can make it on their own schedule. Cut out the middle-developer. lol

Cool find lol.

A couple of years ago, due to a coincidental combo of extreme backups on Jerome and extreme gaps on the WP line, they sent a couple 4's to Dyre, but they sent them back down as a 5, around the loop at the Green, and back uptown as a 4 to Woodlawn. lol

Transit / Re: Expresses running slower lately
« on: July 02, 2011, 09:39:52 pm »
I've been riding on some express trains lately, to be exact:
- R160A-2 (once), R160B Alstom (once), R160B Siemens (twice) (N) via 4th Avenue Express
- R142A (4) Between Atlantic and Franklin

Compared to other times, these trains've been running slower lately compared to about a month or 2 ago. My question is:
Are they putting timers on all the express routes?

R160A-2 and R160B, specify the line.

For the N via 4th Avenue, I'm not sure if they're putting new timers along the route, but I do know that there are existing timers(and the fact that the fleet is ever changing can throw a T/O off). There is a sharp curve right after Atlantic/Pacific(where 4th Avenue meets Atlantic) and you don't want trains to overshoot the station and hit the curve.

Between Atlantic going towards Franklin Avenue, no, there shouldn't be any timers. The train is going uphill, so the gradient takes care of the speed. However, if you're going towards Atlantic, there are GT timers all along the passageway(since the 4 and 5 express tracks are directly beneath the 2 and 3 tracks, they make the same sharp curve into Grand Army Plaza. Without the timers, going downhill a train can easily hit 60).

There's also ongoing construction on the 2 and 3 platform for the connection to the future Barclays Center, as well as construction on the Fulton Street Transit Center. Any line that passes through that complex can see reduced speeds as far as five stations away.

BStyles

It isn't uphill all the way. I don't know all the signals, but there is a nasty ass one shot on a downhill/sharp curve not too far off from Franklin going Utica/Flatbush bound.

They hold a lot of trains at Atlantic due to traffic on and near the bridge, so the trains behind the one getting the hold are gonna see the consequences too lol.

I just feel transit smart for today, don't mind me though. lol

The 4th Express is like the highway, so that might've been traffic, although 4th does get pretty crowded sometimes, especially around Pacific and Dekalb.

The stretch between Franklin takes the same path as the local tracks above the express ones the 4 travels on. So there are some one and two shots on the curves and grades there. That stretch always seems slow. Plus, Eastern Parkway is always crowded during the day. Rogers Junction runs at capacity and handles 4 lines on weekdays, so it gets pretty slow.

They have been adding timers though a lot of places, or reprogramming some to make them slower so yeah, could've been anything knowing the TA. Their motto operations wise seems to be Safer Equals Slower. lol

Thanks, it'll probably look even better whenever I finish what I'm supposed to detail and hand it off to Joe for structural detail and stuff. I probably won't even play it when it's done because it'll probably be so demanding on my computer. lol
