NYCTA Projects / Exterior of the R68/R68A will continue development
« on: September 25, 2012, 12:35:50 pm »
I just want to announce that I will be continuing what I started. And yes, you read it correctly - I will be making both the R68 and the R68A. I was supposed to make the R142A as well, but I decided to go on hiatus, so that was passed on to others. (I have no regrets though, and I wish the developers of the R142A good luck as well!  :) )

Some things that I want to point out before I end this post:
- I haven't started anything yet - I just want to set out a goal and work it out from there. So, no pictures here.
- View my old threads for what I have done so far. I'll continue from there, but may have to study them again to remember what I did. All those textures will be replaced though, as they are not mine.
- I have a good-quality camera myself, so I will be the one supplying nearly all of the textures. But if you still want to send textures to me, particularly the ones that you think I might find useful, then sure, I'll take a look.
- What I will need: textures for areas that I have no access to, such as the cab. I plan to make a 3D cab.
- This will NOT be animated. Maybe I'll look for someone who can animate it when it's almost finished, but for now I'll work on it and see if I can learn it on the way.
- I am not over-exaggerating. I know I can make something as good as what Rikabs or BStyles have made. So, that is what everyone should expect - a highly detailed R68/R68A exterior.
- I am in college, and I am at a point where I need to think of a major, my career, and what my future will be. Of course, I will have a lot of work and stress from college. Don't be surprised if there aren't any updates. But I will try some kind of time management so I can work on the exteriors a little bit.

First time seeing the 2011 New Flyer CNG Low Floor bus!
I couldn't take a closer shot, because I didn't have an Unlimited Ride MetroCard on me.

I didn't plan to do this beforehand, but after I slept from Franklin Av to Burnside Av, I decided to change my plans and pay the Concourse Yard a visit.

Photography / The cloudy days before Thanksgiving
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:10:53 pm »
I saw these days as my opportunity to test High Dynamic mode on my Panasonic ZS7.

Almost all of them are shot in High Dynamic mode, but some of them were shot in normal PASM modes.

November 22

This (2) train is different from the shot above. It was running express for some unknown reason, while the one in the pic above ran normal service. It was the next train to come to Jackson Avenue, after that local (2) train.

November 23

As a bonus, I took these four pictures during the time I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family (along with other families that I don't know so well).

The first two aren't transit pictures, but as error once said, photography doesn't have to be all about the NYCT~  :)

Hope you all enjoyed it!  :)

Photography / Pictures from 5/6 and the day before
« on: May 07, 2011, 01:04:10 pm »
Just wanted to share my joy of using my new camera, my Panasonic Lumix ZS7, and the fun I had in taking bus and rail pictures.

May 5th - Just bus photos, since I was around Flatbush Avenue after visiting Brooklyn College. Here's one:

Yesterday: Pictures of the subway as I went home from school. Some of them include:

and this (I really didn't expect to see this too, right after I left the F train):

I took a lot more pictures, but I will have to upload them later due to my older brother cursing me out for taking up the bandwidth.
This is why I don't like a lot of MMOs.

Also, a note: Every picture taken above ground in the day is Auto White Balance (AWB). Except unless notified, every picture taken underground is all Custom White Balance, and it took me months of setting the white balance to get one that really captured the lighting in many stations. If you plan to buy the ZS7, expect your results underground to be very different from what you see here.
