You railfan late night? Don't you have school or something the next day? :P

Anyways, I'll be looking forward to see some pics and announcements of the Q train to/from 21st-Queensbridge. D to Whitehall seems interesting as well.

I'm still going to school ;)

MTA New York City Transit is bringing FASTRACK to the Sixth Avenue Line beginning February 27th following success on the Lexington Avenue Line in January and the Seventh Avenue Line last week. Beginning Monday, February 27, the BDFM Lines will be shut down from10 p.m. until 5 a.m., suspending Sixth Avenue service between 57th Street and West 4th Street in Manhattan in both directions for four consecutive weeknights.

“During the Seventh Avenue FASTRACK closure, work crews from several disciplines were able to accomplish 425 separate tasks efficiently and safely,” said NYC Transit President Thomas F. Prendergast. “We are learning from each FASTRACK operation, and we saw an increase in productivity over and above what we saw last month during the Lexington Ave FASTRACK. In four nights, we were able to accomplish what would normally have taken at least two months to complete,” added Prendergast.

During this FASTRACK, service will operate as follows:

D trains are rerouted and operate in two sections:

D trains will operate between 205th Street and 59th Street-Columbus Circle, then via the C line between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and West 4th Street, then via the F line between West 4th Street and 2nd Avenue, the last stop.

D trains will operate between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and 36th Street in Brooklyn, then via the R line between 36th Street and Whitehall Street in Lower Manhattan, the last stop.

F trains operate via the E line between Roosevelt Avenue and West 4th Street in both directions. For service to Lexington Avenue/63rd Street, Roosevelt Island and 21st Street-Queensbridge, customers should take the Q. Q service will be extended to 21st Street-Queensbridge via the F line after 57th Street-7th Avenue.

Manhattan-bound B and M service in Brooklyn and Queens ends at 9:30 p.m. Service in Manhattan is available until 10 p.m.

Customers should use nearby stations and services: ACE2345NQR. Free Shuttle buses provide connecting service between the Grand Street D station and both the Canal Street NQR6 and Broadway-Lafayette DF stations.

By providing a more productive work window, Transit employees will be safer by avoiding the interruptions of repeatedly having to “clear up” for trains going by. In order to accomplish our maintenance tasks we chose four corridors to shut down overnight four times a year between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Those corridors all begin at Manhattan’s Central Business District (CBD):

Lexington Avenue 456 from Grand Central-42nd Street to Atlantic Avenue

Seventh Avenue 123 from 34th Street to Atlantic Avenue

Sixth Avenue BDFM from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to West 4th Street

Eighth Avenue ACE from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Jay Street-MetroTech

Only subway line segments with substantial subway alternatives are selected for the overnight shutdowns. So, in addition to nearby lines, there may be other lines running that don’t usually operate during the late night hours in order to help accommodate customers. In order to avoid further inconvenience, we will avoid other service diversions in the area affected by the closure. Our next FASTRACK overnight closure will be on the Eighth Avenue ACE lines from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Jay Street-MetroTech for four consecutive nights beginning Monday, March 12.

This is going to be interested. Is anyone going to railfan this fastrack besides me?

Transit / Re: Canarsie bound V train???

Some of it could've been compiled just by copying and pasting recordings.  One of them was very obvious, so I'm calling a fake.

But the V announcements (if it was not compiled) could have been before the M train changes when they wanted to kill the M and extend the V.

Those V Train announcements aren't Fake. They have a program for the V Train via the L Line which is real and proven back in 2008.
