« on: June 24, 2015, 08:43:00 pm »

This is the pack for WMATA OpenBVE Trains V2.5 for OpenBVE.

All files in use have been cleared by their original owners for use in this update package.
If you wish to use any of the files included in this download, please email oren@orenstransitpage.com and mikejkam@gmail.com.

This update encompasses the creation of 1st generation OpenBVE stock for the WMATA, which is to be updated as the time comes and skills are aquired,
and the recoding of the route files to incorporate the ATC speed control function of OpenBVE and an updated timetable (route found in a separate download). To initiate ATO, simply hit CTRL + A.

Enjoy this update =)

V2.5 update log (6/24/15):
-Updated acceleration curves and brake rate based on documentation available online: http://www.wmata.com/business/procurement_and_contracting/solicitations/uploads/RFP%20Energy%20Storage-Attachment%20B-Rail%20Car%20Performance%20for%20Design-Simulation.pdf

V3.0 to hopefully include 3D cabs by Manuel and the new 7000 series stock (pending my trip down to DC to collect sound samples for Toshiba motor sound development).

Instructions:
Extract the "WMATA OpenBVE Rolling Stock" the folder within to the trains folder.

Credits:
Michael Kam (Fan Railer) - Pulling existing object files and modifying to create rudimentary train exteriors, and coding in new propulsion sounds.
Matt Tilley & Ben Shumin - Sound byte reviewers and suppliers
Matt Tilley - Motivator; without him, this project would probably have smouldered on the backburner and been forgotten. It has, after all, been 2/3rds of a year as of this release.
Oren Hirsch - Original developer, final project reviewer. Only with his permission was this possible.

One thing that is rather frustrating about these routes are the surprise speed limits that pop up out of nowhere.  When this happens my points get docked.  For the ones that have it, did you guys figure it out by playing it once and finding these surprise speed limits?
Yea... there are a few instances along the route, depending on the specific pathing, where speed limits pop up out of nowhere (although I haven't had a problem with it lately). Which career scenarios are you experiencing this with?

I suspect its one of JayJay's fictional routes.  I'm not sure which one it is though, since he's made so many.
Yea, it's the "T" route (which is related to the K route that is still hosted here). I'm pretty sure I downloaded the T from the old version of this site a number of years ago, but it seems to have disappeared... I'll check again.

Need an assist... anyone remember if and where this route can be downloaded?

Content Development / Re: Physics for an R68a

You can easily edit the brake physics yourself by going into the train.dat file and manipulating the brake application delay command.
Quote
#DELAY
0.8            ; DelayPowerUp
0.1            ; DelayPowerDown
0.1            ; DelayBrakeUp
0.2            ; DelayBrakeDown
As common sense would dictate, all values are in seconds.

This is the DTG CSX NRE 3GS-21B Physics Modification pack version 1.0

In order to utilize this freeware physics upgrade, you must have purchased the "Train Simulator: CSX NRE 3GS-21B 'Genset' Loco Add-On" pack available at Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/277762/

This is a freeware pack; in no way is it to be used for commercial purposes. You are free, however to further modify the physics enhancements found in this pack for personal use if you so choose.

This is NOT a sound mod pack. Physics adjustments made around existing sounds.

The purpose of this pack is to adjust the physics performance of the locomotive.

List of general changes; specific changes for each specific locomotive located below:
1. Modified tractive effort curve (http://www.fasterfreightcleanerair.com/pdfs/Presentations/FFCACA2008/James%20Wurtz.pdf).
2. Modified power ratings @ alternator and @ wheel.
3. Removed "Field Divert" function to unlock maximum performance potential.
4. Modified weights.
5. Removed coupler slack.
6. Adjusted rpm rate of change.
7. Adjusted locomotive load response times.
8. Adjusted fuel consumption (https://www.cumminspower.com/www/common/templatehtml/technicaldocument/SpecSheets/Gdrive/qsk19/QSK19-G2.pdf).

   h. Weight = 268,000 lbs (121.564 metric tons)
   i. Fuel capacity = 2900 gallons
   j. Max traction amps = 1500

IMPORTANT; Install Instructions

1. Locate GensetCSXPack01 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTG\GensetCSXPack01)
2. Open DTG_CSX_NRE_3GS-21B_Physics_Mod_Pack.rar
3. Drag the file folders from the .rar in step 2 into the directory you opened in step 1.
4. The installation should be complete. Run TS2015 to check.
5. If installation is botched or does not work, to back up to original files, delete the folders from step 3.

Thank you for downloading and installing.
Enjoy =)
