General BVE/OpenBVE / OpenBVE Route Development Map
« on: February 22, 2016, 07:57:27 pm »
We are extremely proud to announce the creation of the OpenBVE Route Development Google Map. This interactive map will allow you to see our progress on a route, including station and POI detailing information in the form of a short paragraph, as well as images of WIP stations. The map will have additional routes, such as the 3 Line, L Line, and 5 Line in the near future. The only published layer (LIRR) should give a good baseline of the level of quality and detail that we seek to put into the map. Check it out at https://goo.gl/QhVUI6!

Fan Railer is also working on a 7000 Series train with us that will include a 3D Panel and exterior. Progress document: https://goo.gl/CT2hWd. Enjoy some progress shots below =).

Other Projects / Official Update Thread for OpenBVE Amtrak Routes
« on: November 04, 2015, 04:57:56 pm »
Long overdue, here is the OpenBVE Amtrak Route update thread. Amtrak trains and railroad routes that run through Amtrak territory may be posted here as well. It is just in due time that I introduce this thread, as I the release of the City of New Orleans route fragment will soon be upon us. The route extends 44 miles through Mississippi, has an operating time of 45 minutes, and only has three station stops including the origin. Here are some WIP pictures of the route:

We are proud to announce that the full PATH system for OpenBVE is now in development. The monster pack will be one of the most comprehensive yet for OpenBVE, and will include PA-1 to PA-5 rolling stock in varying consists with appropriate safety systems and 3D cabs, as well as all PATH routes in a variety of scenarios. The pack is being developed by myself, Nyctrman, BStyles, Fan Railer, TyMorgan, SimCentral, and Manuel18. In addition to the trains included, all routes will be included with a multitude of scenarios, such as weather scenarios, deadheads, yard moves, animated track work, etc. All routes and trains are set to be 4th to 5th generation quality, and we have no plan to rush this project. It'll take time to be better than WOS 1, but the accuracy we will achieve is incredible compared to WOS, which was developed in Germany. The pack we are making will include realistic features seldom covered in train simulators, such as miscalibrated timers, trains that are actually tripped when they hit a signal, announcements on all routes, all three generations of the WTC station, and buildings as they appear in real life. Remember, we plan on creating several THOUSAND unique objects and several hundred announcements, both manual and automated. The comprehensive release will not be ready for AT LEAST a year, most likely closer, or more than, two years, but we will keep you updated along the way. Check out the videos below to see some of what's done so far. Note that many updates have been put into place since these were recorded, including new signals and station objects:

Other Games / OpenBOS
« on: July 27, 2015, 06:34:27 am »
So I've made this announcement on other sites and forums, but I think it's time for me to put it here. OpenBOS is an open source bus simulator being worked on by myself and another developer. It uses the same source as OpenBVE (which is being slightly edited), and utilizes various plugins to allow bus operation. The program modification is still underway. With the default OpenBVE compatibility settings, we are able to create a bus that steers in either direction and can go forward and backward. We are working on curve resistance (so that you have to steer the bus around curves), and creating a fleet of buses to be included with the beta of the game. A fictional route is in the works, on top of the M86 and M96 which have already been created. The default program will include and Orion VII, D60HF, and MCI D4500. The Orion VII and D60HF are both still a WIP, but the MCI has completed exteriors completed in MTA, Coach USA, and Greyhound liveries. The buses are also being created in such a way that repainting buses and creating new buses is very simple copying and pasting of images. The program is not yet ready for a beta, but an announcement will be made when it is. There has been a lot of progress since the creation of this video.

Other Projects / OpenBVE Hudson Line Development Thread
« on: April 20, 2015, 09:29:23 pm »
Well, after thinking long and hard, I've decided my next project is going to be the MNRR Hudson Line for OpenBVE. A skeleton is in the works, and the route will run all 74 miles from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central. Development will be slow in the near future, but once I release v3 of the Hempstead Branch, and the New Canaan Branch, development will pick up, as I plan for this to be my sole project. When there are major updates in development, they will be posted on my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFtuTbfGJRjEb2twt6JAVmw. Stay tuned =)

Other Projects / OpenBVE NJ Transit HBLR Development Thread
« on: February 23, 2015, 07:35:14 pm »
Hey guys-
Before I started developing the Hempstead Branch, I made a made a shuttle route on the NJT HBLR from Richard Street to 8th Street for practice. I will be developing this, with lesser priority, as I develop the New Canaan and Hempstead Branches. Right now the route is very short, but it may be expanded soon. Along with the route, I am also developing the Kinkisharyo LRV that operates the HBLR. This project is NOT my top priority, so don't expect too much information on it lol, but I will try to give (fairly) regular updates. I'll post screenshots and videos after more progress has been made with the route.

Other Projects / OpenBVE New Canaan Branch Development Thread
« on: February 18, 2015, 05:05:38 pm »
Hello all-
As some of you may know, the New Canaan Branch for OpenBVE is now being developed by Fan Railer and myself alongside the Hempstead Branch. There should be videos and or screenshots up soon so please stay tuned. I have very limited WiFi access this week, so I will not be available often to answer questions.
We'll keep you updated!

Other Projects / OpenBVE Hempstead Branch Development Thread
« on: January 27, 2015, 09:39:08 pm »
Hello,
Long time lurker, occasional poster here :P. I recently started developing the LIRR Hempstead Branch for OpenBVE. I have a pretty good skeleton from Hempstead to Hollis done, and I am working on placing some objects throughout the route. OpenBVE hasn't been responding very well to the game capture software, so I don't have videos yet. I will put some screenshots up in the coming days to show what I have so far. This is also the first time I'm doing a project like this, so there are a number of inaccuracies, lack of detail, etc, as I have been relying on information from the Wiki and BVE Klub. I am first just developing to Hollis, as the Jamaica area is highly detailed.
I'll keep everybody posted!

BVE/OpenBVE Support / 2 via the 1 Line No Signals
« on: December 07, 2014, 10:06:33 am »
Hey--
Can someone help me? My version of the 2 via the 1 line has very few signals, and when I watch the Youtube videos there are way more signals than I have. I have this problem on both the 2 via the 1 and the 1 line.
Thank you!
