that can be a possibility too but I think it could be mixed of R32's and R46's but who knows.
You mean the line itself having R32s and R46s running separately? Not the actual consists being mixed themselves. Last summer they ran like that. I remember when that R42 popped up on the A lol.

As of right now the A to Far Rock is 95% R32s and theres 3-4 sets of 32s to lefferts . There was a r42 on the A earlier today , but went OOS due to some problem.  Theres 1 set of 32s left on the C , the rest are 46s.

That's because the Rockaway Shuttle used to be called the (H) Line (And it still is, internally by the MTA) instead of the generic (S), when the R32's were still in their heyday.

I will be filming tomorrow and checking everything out for myself after seeing some videos of the R32 (A) from yesterday.
and yes Mudwrestle the Rockaway park shuttle (S) used to be a (H) when the R32's were way younger.

I was out there on 6/1, and the balance between R46's and R32's on the A was much more even. I think about half and half.

New York City Subway R32 A Train Departing Euclid Avenue
Railfanning New York City Subway SMS R32 A Train from 42nd Street PABT to Euclid Avenue

Also managed to catch what I believe was an SMS'd Pair. The ride was quite smooth, and I was thankful for the relatively clean Railfan Window.

this is the trend on the A/C lines the past few years since the R44's have been terminated of service.
Also the R42 Rust bucket is running on the A as well

This topic was started on 3/23/12 that is when the first photos on this thread was posted... I am well aware of the summer swaps.

Gives a chance for the people who normally take the r46 on the A to take a r32 instead, for those who appreciate the nostalgia of the corrugated steel cars.

I would have never of guessed that the pic was taken at 3/23/12 when the title of the thread included 3/23/12.  ::)
