Spent half an hour at Nuneaton station yesterday (On the West Coast Mainline).

Took a few pictures of the comings and going. Nothing special, and just the usual platform type shots. But they may (or may not) be of interest to those of you on the otherside of the pond.

To start the train... When engine is started/Pantograph is up.

• reverser to forward and back to Netural, [F,V] to switch on the cab...
• cancel AWS bell [insert]
• Reverser back to Forward[F]
• Switch of DRA if fitted [Space Bar] (DRA is a Driver Reminder for red signals ahead, it should be activated when you stop at a Red Signal as a reminder. It will prevent power from being applied until it has been deactivated again)
• Release Brakes [<] or [A if combined power handle]
• Take Power [Z]

If the doors are still open, on most trains (DMUs/EMUs especially) the Door/Brake interlock will be holding the brakes on, so wait for the doors to lock before releasing brakes and taking power...

When driving use Insert to cancel AWS warning alarms
And if the DVD sounds the bell use Delete to cancel this...

Looks great! Do show some screenshots of the front.

The front still needs a bit of work doing to it. I'll get some posted in good time...

Content Development / Re: Curving the bottom part of the train

When you create your mesh, you need to ad vertex's at every point where there is a "curve" or ridge, etc in the body.

For curves, you're probably best using custom normals, as you can use them to make the ridges for the curve look smoother. ... Which I've got to try to get my head around myself soon, for my projects.

Im a newbie to developing, but have been getting some help from someone with quite a lot more knowledge than myself.
So it may take it's time, but I'm determined to do a proper job of it!

It's pretty much British Heritage Railways (mainly heritage diesels), but with the odd bit of modern thrown in, and the usual photos from parks/museums etc as well...

Well I thought, means Im learning how to code, from Call Boy on the class 31 project. I'd start my own project, to give myself a bit of extra practise.


After adding the vertex's and faces...


Alot of hair pulling and almost giving up, later.... After I had worked out Set Texture Coordinates...


And after a bit of fine tuning the vertex's...


And a couple of hours with Photoshop. I got the opposite side... I didn't have photos of this side, so working from diagrams and photos seen online, I had to create my own....

Class 31 Externals

Myself and Call Boy, have started work on some class 31 externals, which have been sat in the pipeline for a while now, but I just havent had the motivation to do anything...

I thought I'd share a couple of screenshots with you all! Very Happy
