Question about D60HF's on the BX12
« on: April 10, 2011, 07:22:18 pm »
Are they taking good care of the D60 HF's because I went to fordham yesterday and I saw a bunch of D60HF's and they all looked used and dirty and some had alot of sot on the back then every LFSA I saw they had super clean and they looked as if they just got them so are they really are they taking good care of the D60HF's and putting them aside and only caring about the LFSA

Gun Hill is a shit depot. The Artics there are not very good in shape very dirty.Even the LFSA's are kinda messed up.Some buses have a back bumper missing not the entire but a part.

that's the point of what I just said lol I meant that not even 40 years had passed and the busses look like they already met their limit

I don't think the buses last 40years or supposed to last 40yrs.
Most Subway cars for NYCT last roughly 35 to 45 years.
As for the buses about 15yrs.

buses get dirty over time..they don't wash them everyday you know lol

they might have just given all the LFSA's a wash which would make them look cleaner than the other buses

buses are supposedly to be retired after about 15 years more or less

I thought their goal was to be safe, not be dangerous with buses falling apart and not maintained well

Some depots have VERY inexperienced maintenance people or lazy people. *cough* ENY* cough*
