General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: New Signal Implementing.
« on: October 06, 2011, 04:26:32 am »
How would I go about implementing TJ's signal pack to a route?  Say the Highland-8 for starters?
Find all of the signal commands and write them down, then remove them (You can remove them as you write them down) and follow TJay's instructions for adding his signals in, they generally use the same sequence of commands so it's a matter of copying and pasting, then changing the signals to your liking

I tweaked the performance to be as close to the real thing as I could, but there are some variables I can't properly add in right now like the switch to Dynamic Braking. Great work on the exterior error

Wow, that's really good. The trucks still need a bit of work but great job!

Sorry, but I will not be doing public beta-testing for any more projects as it is too time-consuming and may compromise the integrity of the project.
I will however try to expedite this project and hope to have it out by the end of December the latest though.
Send me what you have error, I'll tweak the breaks a bit and stuff since I got some more info this week.

right click it and click open with, then chose notepad. Use 240, that's a 4 minute headway

Makes you appreciate the things you take for granted and the fact that tomorrow isn't promised, and how far some people will really go to save lives. RIP
Exactly, some people say that is what makes us special. There'll always be someone to help if you need it

it's not difficult but it is tedious since his converter doesn't perform batch conversions. And the BVE 5 suite seems to still be a work in progress, the converter is still in it's beta stage, so hopefully he will address the problem and add b3d support.

This should also be a push for us to start coding in newer formats. Sure to some rw may be easy to code in and that's cool, but b3d objects and csv objects share mostly the same code, just slightly different commands. It's about time we ditched the .b3d format

NYCTA Projects / And the Only BVE 5 compatible route we have is...
« on: September 08, 2011, 05:54:54 pm »
*Drum roll* The Franklin Avenue Shuttle! If you have the necessary tools and everything needed to run the route (As in no missing files) Then you can use the converter to create a BVE 5 version of the route. There are some visual problems, but they're nothing major and the route is perfectly playable.

So why is the Franklin Ave Shuttle the only BVE 5 compatible route? It's because it was the only route released specifically for BVE 4, meaning that the objects are all in .csv or .x format and the route coding is BVE 4 compliant. All of our routes still use .b3d objects so they will not be able to be converted.

Well seeing as I was able to run it straight out the box with no dependencies, it converts my content for me and that it's implementing OpenBVEs features better than michelle has, I gotta give this one to Mackoy. If you translate the download page it'll show you all of the features he's working on for the next BVE 5 release, and BVE 5 already eliminates the need for curved rails.

In all seriousness, this route makes no sense. I know it's your creation and all, but that map looks like 4 different lines fused together.

alright i'll try it tomorrow, thanks guys

EDIT: Well I tried it, so far I haven't been stopped with the message so that's good, but if I press the windows button openbve frezzes and I can't move the mouse. I have to use the keyboard to log off and then the mouse works...any ideas? Much appreciated!
seeing as you're using a dell, I wouldn't rule out something failing. You should google how to perform a RAM test and see if that finds anything
