i'm figuring out how to integrate teamspeak-like multiplayer functionality, and "channels", and real online multiplayer support, to have a true multi-player experience.

i have plans to attempt to port it to iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad), but with a re-written UI to take advantage of the touchscreen, and a download catalog, which will be similar to the App Store, where you can add sites that hosts BVE routes and trains. the iPad version, will obviously have a more native UI.

i just noticed i DO have a program that allows me to create installers for Mac OS X. it's bundled as part of the Xcode developer tools. don't know if this will be a good idea or not if i create the Mac OS X installer versions. could take me a few days or weeks though.

i've noticed how the routes and trains are packaged in an .exe file.
as you see, i mostly use my Mac, rather than my Windows pc.

question is, would it be a good idea if we had installers for BOTH Windows and Mac OS X? because i don't want to have to turn on my PC just to install the routes/trains, then transfer to the Mac.

i know the majority uses Windows here, but i'm pretty sure i'm not the only Mac user here.

I have it working flawlessly on my mac pro. Search around on the official openbve forums (http://openbve.trainsimcentral.co.uk/), somebody posted a compiled version of the program as a .app file that can be executed like an .exe on a windows machine. To update the program, simply open up the .app file and replace openbve.exe with the newest version of the .exe and replace the all of the subfolders such as the "data" folder.

By the way, once you open up the openBVE menu, be sure to uncheck the "show warning messages" and the "show error messages" checkboxes. For some reason mono doesn't like to cooperate with openBVE's error and warning messages function; simply not rendering the button to ignore the warnings and errors.

THANKS! i found the compiled .app file!

has anyone had any luck getting OpenBVE running on Mac OS X?
i know there's a way on getting it to run, but the steps seem confusing.

if so, i'm going to need help to get it working on Mac OS X 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard), on an Intel MacBook Pro.
