This is the new official update thread for the HL. For all of the old members who have been following regularly, then you should know of the progress of this line. As for new ones, the images will follow shortly.
Progress as of this post is as far as Garrison Avenue, while station information is as far as Division Avenue - Broadway. Credits also go out to Coneykidw8 and Lexington456 who have, and will be helping me with the progression of this line.
The Google Map for this line: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=2&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=208926562033814987950.00048eec9ced9d37fa1f7
Route history:
This route has been in development since 2008 and this is the third version of this line. I originally had it running from The World Trade Center to West 145th Street in Manhattan, but I have long since lost that file in a computer crash.
The new line, now phase three, runs from Parkchester in the Bronx to the Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Mill Basin, Brooklyn. Local service does not follow down the Flatbush corridor; it instead serves the major terminals in the city and follows the old route path of the original HL back to the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.
The default trainset for this line will vary, and the overall route will strive to achieve 5th Generation visuals and full OpenBVE compatibility.

It's an impressive route you've created. I love the effort you put into this since you released your beta months ago.
-
This a very Impressive and Beautiful Route.
I have one question though,
Will this pass by Maspeth NY and possibly stop there?
-
Those benches and elevators are off the hook!
-
;D The graphics are put together nicely, so realistic. (envious face) lol
-
Very cool route! I look forward to operating on the new HL.

@BStyles: Here are the strip maps you asked for.

Hey.....what are the 9,10,11 & 12 routes? I never heard of them before.
-
The (9), (10) and (12) lines are in development by Lexington456.
http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=195.msg1150#msg1150 (http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=195.msg1150#msg1150)
I have no clue what the (11) line is. I just included it because it was written on the map.
-
Just to update the 9, 10, and 12 has been put on hold because the IRT 4 and 6 lines are being worked on which is also delayed.
These line will connects as soon as possible but for now lets patiently wait for this great route. 8)
-
The (9) (10) and (12) are in development by me, like Lance stated.
The (11) is the IRT route that is in development by BStyles
Like coneyislandDFNQ said, the (9) (10) and (12) are being delayed to work on the (4) and (6), but only the (6) is being delayed, not the (4). The (4) is being worked on by Styles and myself.
-
there is a 11 and 12 train
i dont know where they are avalible
-
Yes, the FRT 11 Line and 12 Lines are available here: FRT 11 and 12 Lines (http://sites.google.com/site/suiduj/)
My 11 Line is in the preliminary stages, and may or may not start development. If it does, it will start development once the Brooklyn-Bound HL is nearing completion. The route map is here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=208926562033814987950.0004978fc9fb020a33f02 (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=208926562033814987950.0004978fc9fb020a33f02)
Thanks for the strip maps, Lance! They look amazing, but you left 47th Road out of the local stations. :o
Work will continue, starting from Astoria-Ditmars. I'm searching for some ideas for an IND wall for Grand Central Parkway.

the (H)(J)(K) will connect with your (HL) at Foster Avenue. If you want Lance i can edit this strip map for you so your dont have to keep re-doing it. Let me know.
Oh and heres how your HL runs into the H, J, and K.

Looks grimey and disgusting just like real life! Will there be a 3D third rail texture as well?
-
There was a third rail made for Trainz, and I haven't slapped it onto these tracks as of yet. I'll move on with the development before I add any of the photo objects you saw above.
I've renamed Grand Central Parkway to Astoria Boulevard. It's obvious that you can't get out at the parkway, but I will be incorporating the I-278 logo onto the beam signs anyway.
Astoria Boulevard walls complete:

Damn B thats HOT!!

This is some excellent work you have here :D

This is some excellent work you have here :D
I am putting the blue ribbon on this, the quality of the graphics is off the chain, Styles keep it up.
Btw my H is underground so am i deeper underground at Foster Avenue or higher up?
-
Christ...it's a three-level station!
The HL passes over the 9 and 10 line, which terminates at Foster, so I guess you're way underneath all that. I'll add on to the map I made of that area when I gat a chance.
Astoria Boulevard. I'll be spending a bit of time on this station before I move on to Broadway:

Great stuff there, Styles.
-
Creative! Brick girders! Good progress B.

New updates to the visuals along the HL line. I don't know what you think of it, but the new objects, to me, locks this line in, as officially IND.

Oh man thats sexy!!!!!!!!! 8)
-
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!
-
Thumbs up.
-
Not quite done with the transition to the new objects yet (still have to make some curves and whatnot) But, along with the first signal, there are a few new things in this picture.
Oh, and the home signal will follow this one. :P

BStyles
-
Thats fantastic B! This might be a dumb question but does the new objects have light reflections or you guys are working on that?
-
Since it looks pretty good, I was wondering if I could Beta Test?
-
Wow TJay's New Objects made the Route even more Glorious, Nice ;)
-
There will be no BETA testing for this route. When the first phase of the line, from Parkchester to Division Avenue - Broadway, is released, it will be released to everyone.
@4 Express: I heard that there was a reflection command, but I haven't looked into it much. I'll have to ask Aaron; he knows more than I do. If so, the rail heads and maybe the elevators will reflect. If it reduces the frame rates, however, then no, it'll just have to be more texture modifications.
BStyles
-
Good then.
-
Good stuff, we should probably transition the tunnels too lol.
-
Errr Styles if you look back to the old forum it was you who managed to get reflections on the track during the initial HL construction?

Where is the old HL Route?
-
Where is the old HL Route?
The Route is the same. The Objects were just Updated.
-
Where is the old HL Route?
I believe you mean the first BETA from Parkchester to Nassau Av, which is available here (http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/7/22/2015255/NYCT-HL.rar). Please note that the route only works in BVE2, so if you try to run this route in BVE4 or openBVE, many objects will not show up.

New Animated trippers are being tested along the HL. The first of Many:

-
Thats pretty damn good!!

Excellent work, except the lighting of the box, probably should've moved it closer to the lighted part of the station :P

Moving on, to Broadway. New walls complete:
-
Well, it's about time for me to head out. Yes, I'm leaving.
Oh, well, not for good, I'm just going on hiatus for a moment. In the meantime, the projects that this post resides in, or requires my input will be halted until an indefinite date. As much as it pains me to put the projects on halt just as they were making major progress, I have no choice.
For those reading this post and begin to go “oh great, development stopped again” I suggest you step away from the computer screen and find yourself a hobby, or a book, because I do have a personal life. A handful of people know what I’m going to be doing from now, but for the others, you just have to sit tight, and use the latest development pictures as eye candy.
Well, that’s pretty much it. Keep doing what you’re doing, and I’ll be back before you know it.
