Try reducing draw distance.

It didn't work is there a way you can load in the map all at once because I get 60 fps then when I drive the fps drops I have a good graphics card and cpu

I think there is a setting like that inside the settings config file. See the wiki for more information.

Those are good specs, way better than mine, I am using a GTX 570. I agree, in OpenBVE, try reducing the draw distance and reduce the bits per pixel to 16. I noticed that running OpenBVE in windowed mode also helps a bit with the stuttering on detailed routes.

What is the version of the operating system and the openBVE that you may be using?
For todays version from sir Chris Lees from the download webpage site http://vps.bvecornwall.co.uk/OpenBVE/Builds/ (http://vps.bvecornwall.co.uk/OpenBVE/Builds/)
then go to openBVE the program "Options"
then pick the "Window Mode"
then pick the "Vertical Sync Disabled"
then pick the "Load in advance"
then unpick the "Disable OpenGL display lists"
then unpick the "Unload unused textures"
These picks do help greatly my Windows 7 Nvidia PC

Good day and night for you

Oh yea the draw distance doesn't help i think it's the map loading in but I do have a strong pc so I don't understand but I'll try the setting tommorow and tell u if they work

Sir joeyjet625
For the "Vertical Sync Disabled" the maximum largest fps is 60, not larger.  This is good for me.
Do set the "Interpolation Mode" to the simpler that is acceptable to your eyes.  The "Nearest neighbor mip" is good for me.
Do set the "Level of anti-aliasing" to the smaller that is acceptable to your eyes.  The "1" is good for me.
Do set the "Viewing distance" to the smaller that is acceptable to your eyes.  The "1000 m" is good for me.

Also, for the Windows, do go to the "Ctrl Alt Delete" and "Task Manager", then do insurance that other program applications are not running that do eat your meal of memory and CPU PC power.

Good day and night for you

While this is an old thread and I have not posted in a while, this subject is of particular interest for me. First I am getting back to my interest in my building a subway version of the Staten Island Railway. There is a separate thread on that subject. I have encountered this problem, even going over the openbve source code to search for the problem and possible solution. I am undertaking a task of reducing textures by consolidating images. I am having little success, but in thinking about the problem as the OP suggested loading all textures at one time and possibly keeping them active. I agree with this philosophy and I am attempting to provide a solution. I will attempt to accomplish this by building  a "cache box" under all my landscapes which occur at 25 meter intervals. This will be an object encasing all textures. Each texture will only be a few inches square strategically placed under the landscape out of visual range. I want to do this so my route could run smooth on a 7 year old laptop. Mind you I am in the market for a 9th or 10th gen I9. If my solution is not successful than I have no choice but to throw a lot of power at the problem.
