Title: A bit of openbve help please
Post by: r160bve on November 22, 2011, 05:03:22 pm
Hello Bvestation. Aside from all the wonderful nyct routes I play, I also play this fictictional
desert freight route for openbve. I have several freight trains for this route and these freight trains
have at max 15 cars. I would like to know how to add cars to these trains to make (for example 30 cars)
like a real classic freight train. I think you need to do something else aside from adding lines to the extensions.cfg
file. Any help would be appericated. Thanks :D

You can edit the number of cars with OpenBVE Train Editor. (Just search it up on Google) Load the train into it, and then go into the "Properties (2)" tab, and where it says "Number of trailer cars" change that number to any number of cars you want

What about the extensions.cfg? Does openBVE Train Editor automatically edit that for you?

Unfortunately, no. You have to edit the extensions.cfg manually

Hmm, so how will Train Editor work then? From my knowledge of coding, you'll need to edit both the train.dat and the extensions.cfg if you want to add more exterior objects.

Train Editor is only based on the train.dat.

...ohhh, I realized that I missed a sentence from r160bve's post that would tell me what he's trying to ask. You're right - Train Editor would easily solve the problem.  :)

Thanks everone, openbve train editor worked perfectly.
I have one last question, how do you reduce the station waiting time from 15 seconds to 10 seconds in an .rw file?
