Okay...so is this for the developers, or for people wishing to modify the routes? Because if so, you're going to have to run through the route to find all of the gaps if you don't know where they are, and the meter marks for them.

Okay, stop making new topics for simple questions that could be answered in just one. Let this be your first and last warning, because you are clogging up the forum.

They haven't really been implemented because in order to use the punchbox you would have to verify that you're either diverging or going forward, and you can't activate an external object from inside the cab just yet(at least not to my knowledge). I do have a texture of it, lying around somewhere.

Air circulation is better if you're forcing heat downwards and out, which is why a top mounted works better than the more space saving bottom mounts. He has a rear fan which works like a muffler, so to speak.

Ugh, that CPU fan is atrocious. It's like the inside of your computer doesn't know how to decide. :P

General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: Best IRT route
« on: January 09, 2012, 09:26:05 pm »
Currently there are no 5th Generation IRT routes available for download. The closest are being developed on around the forum.

For real, you still have the 2 line, which is as close to real as you'll get, asthetic-wise. The most realistic fictional route would have to be the Metro Transit 8 Line by TJay1724, although there are still a few fictional IRT routes lurking around the internet which I will find links to, later on.

Station Talk / Re: Putting Abandoned stations in a route
« on: December 30, 2011, 04:41:11 pm »
The 1 and 4 already feature the abandoned stations in their skeletons. I will try to recreate how the station used to look before the graffiti(because obviously graffiti doesn't make a station look any more abandoned than a typical subway tunnel) and then add dim lights and some wear and tear to give it that "abandoned" feel.

Too many stops within two blocks of one another. There is a thing as too much stops, Rome, and they make a route longer than necessary. I can tell, because you almost doubled the SIRR.

Not that it matters, but you also seemed to miss almost all of the more significant avenues for the lanes and roads :o.

If I were to use this program to make objects, would any of the files be compatible with OpenBVE? I know that JPG and BMP work but are there any file types that allow you to save this in 3D? The program I have here is Autodesk Inventor Professional 2012 and it's pretty simple to use. I would look forward to developing objects on here if this program is compatible with OpenBVE. I'm sure it would make developing objects alot more easier if it worked for OpenBVE. I received this copy for free because it's used in my DDP class but you have to pay for it. I could probably create some very detailed objects with this program such as exteriors and much more.

You're talking about making a 3D model in an advanced program for a simulator that uses Notepad/Microsoft Excel-coded objects.

No, I used Autodesk Inventor in high school, and it requires that you export to 3DS(through Autodesk 3DS Max), then explort to Blender, where a rare exporter will convert files to B3D. Yes, it can be done. Will it run in OpenBVE? No. 3DS format triangulates faces, which triples the amount of polygons, and prevents texturing. The Smith/9th Street Truss on the G line would be useless had it been made in Inventor, which is why objects are built in Notepad, and/or Microsoft Excel. I would strongly suggest learning how to build objects in Notepad, because it is a complicated process unless you know what you're doing.

Hit the nail right on the head with this one.

Like it or not, the enthusiasm when it comes to developing has gone down the drain. Like I said in a few other topics, there are too many people asking for BETA testing instead of getting their damn notebooks(or notepads, in this case) out, and actually learning a thing or two about what it takes to become a true developer. When I started, I started just like the way things are now until I was put in my place. It didn't take more than a few simple questions before I figured things out and when I look back on it I think about how selfish some of the members here have become, as well as lazy.

I don't have a problem giving support, honestly. But I will not, however, give support to someone who has no intention of learning. People say that we bash them for asking simple questions; in actuality, we're bashing them for not taking the time to explore what this site has to offer and what has already been accomplished, because I can assure you, if I had to start from scratch today, and searched around the site for a moment, I can get the hang of developing in no time. It's not that hard. But the way people portray themselves on the site, with the spamming, the multiple name changes, the modifications, and the quality of their work, the inability to make proper sentences when posting, and not to mention the inability to do anything but ask for BETAs when they have no background skill or expertise in development to show for it, it's just a waste of breath.

I did start one of the companies Kevin mentioned, because back, about five years ago, it was just a fancy name that I used for my work. That name has now grown into something that has become a community, something that only a separate website could've handled, but I never forgot where I came from. Do I hope to get something out of it? I never have, and I never will. When you get to work on quality content at your own expense, for a simulator that people may look back on someday, you don't do it for the BETA testing.

I look at some of these members, and I wonder if they realize that the immature, selfish ways they portray themselves on this site will reflect on who they become later on. They don't have priorities like we do, so when it comes to release dates and things of that nature, we do have rights to tell them off about it, because until they hit that phase, they won't get it.

Yeah...super.

Instead of giving out help and then asking for support, next time, take a look over in the Support part of this forum, where there are dozens of topics explaining in full detail, how to do this.

You do realize that there is an actual 4 line under development, right? Just curious.

WHY U KEEP CALLING ME A SPAMMER!!! >:(
IS NOT LIKE IM STEALING SOMEONE FILE
Thank you (J)-Board St,Manhattan to JC

Going to every development topic on the forum asking everyone for BETAs, changing your name a couple dozen times and having multiple accounts...yeah, I'm pretty sure that constitutes as spamming. And you can save the excuses because at the end of the day, it's you and you only.

Thinking about it would make sense to copy the (F) file from anywhere past 36th to 179th everything is perfectly setup for a (E) rush hr service to 179th after the original mainline is done.
Or even to get more complicated a weekend G.O route of the (E) via 6th Av/63rd St regular routing from WTC to Spring then diverge to W4th then the (F) can be copied to the (E) that would be insane. Not impossible.

I find it funny how simple you guys make route coding sound. This is the reason I do not support G.O. routes, either, because it shames development. If the route is going to Jamaica Center, then the route is going to Jamaica Center. Period. Changing the distances and adding a few files does not make a G.O., especially when the two routes have no correlation.

can I beta test too? I want to drive any train that is available for BETA testing, I have never beta tested any train before in my life so I want to try beta testing. You can send the BETA testing train link to my email address (dehrlich37@aol.com)

First of all, and this goes for everyone, before an author even agrees to beta test, which we're stopping, don't post your email in a forum where anyone can say and do anything. Common sense should tell you to PM the author your email address. This is how you get viruses and malware.

I wanted to say more, and I most certainly had a mouthful to say to nightmare403, but what's the point? Things never change.

Until further notice, no one on this thread will ask for updates to this project until the author deems it so. Nightmare403, would it kill you and Failsafe to use Google? Because obviously that's what got you to this website. There are dozens if not hundreds of forums dedicated to what you need, so please, use your heads.

That, and I quite distinctly remember myself saying that I, and a few other people were working on some NYCTA related projects a few pages back, which shows me again, that you do not read topics through.

Again, do not PM me, because it will be deleted. Let Google be your friend.
