It's been almost a year since I updated this thread. To celebrate a year of my train set this July, I will be making an r160. A lot has developed since my last post here. We have elevated stations now. I released 2 back in November based on the NYC stations in Brooklyn. Another modder just broke ground to make the metro compatible with surface and elevated trains and we are about to create a new metro system that goes from underground to surface to elevated. Train yards are now possible too. I will keep you guys updated.

Yep curious as to see what game this is.  Also be sure you get permission from the photographer of the picture you are using.  The photos on nycsubway.org have a large number of different people submitting their photos!

For those wondering, it's for a game called Cities Skylines. I made a new thread so not to hijack this one http://forums.bvestation.com/index.php?topic=2931.0

Mudwrestle, great work on all the models!! I really miss how diverse our subway system was. You made me have to install BVE again. I was hoping one day the graphics would get to this level.

I didn't want to hijack Mudwrestle's progress shots in the thread where I was asked what game the model train I made would be in (BTW again I say great work Mudwrestle!). It's made for Cities Skylines....a city building game like Sim City 4 but in 3D. It was just released in March. http://store.steampowered.com/app/255710/

Here are some preview shots. I'm releasing the first volume of a SMEE train set within 24 hours of this post.

Original model made in Sketchup

I will put a link when they go live. The only thing is the game is still young and don't have elevated stations yet. But the modding community is going in hard.

No worries! Thanks for the link. But I'm having trouble logging in there. It's been a long time since I visited the site and I don't see a regular login form. I know I'm a member but forgot my info. When I go to the login help I get directed to create an account for the wiki.  Did this site change recently? It's where I got most of my train reference images a few years ago. I can still hunt some pictures but it's not easy finding some good isometric views of the roof, front and sides. I'll keep looking.

i already made R21/R22. i dont want anyone involve my project so far since bad members seized me up...
I'm not making it for this game. It's for another game as stated in my post. Never implied I wanted to help you. I wouldn't just intrude on someones project like that. I'm only looking for direction for some good textures.

OK, Thanks.

Wow, this has progressed a lot! Great work!
I could use some help.....I made a low poly model of a R22 for a game mod and I'm at the texturing stage now.

Where do you get the textures for these models? Or any advice is welcome.

Station Talk / Can I use my Own Download Manager?
« on: June 15, 2015, 06:41:27 pm »
I been away from this site for too long. Nice change BTW. I 'm downloading everything over again as I'm on a new PC. Downloading OpenBVE was simple. But then I went to get the slant and only get redirected to get that open download manager. I already have IDM. Is it a must that I download that manager to get the new trains?

My installation was working just fine for a long time until recently. When the route loads, I now have numerous errors and a strange noise. I didn't change anything in my BVE folder. What could cause this to happen?

14
Looking good so far. Yeah I agree you should take your time even though I'm eager to drive this route. I know how the creative process actually have a life of its own. What train is that in the screen shots? I like the cab.
