OpenBVE Camera
« on: September 03, 2011, 07:07:13 pm »
Hello all,

I recently discovered OpenBVE, and it is a wonderful program!  There was one problem that I ran into on the game though:  camera views.  Everything else works fine but the cameras.  The cabview is great, but my only concern is "F3" and "F4".  When I hit either of these, it does not follow along with the train.  When I try to get a trackside view, it only shows the beginning of the route, and does not follow along with the train.  Anyone know how to solve this problem, or has anyone had the same problem?  Thanks!

Not really

F3, F4 are not supposed to follow the train. Those are trackside camera's. When you press F4 thats the flyby camera. F2 is the exterior camera. This is the cam that follows alongside the consist. Press NUMPAD 7 to goto the next station of interest. Press NUMPAD 1 for the previous one.

In addition to what you said, NUMPAD 8 moves you (The camera) forward, NUMPAD 4 moves you (The camera) left, NUMPAD 2 moves you (The camera) backwards, NUMPAD 6 moves you (The camera) right

Yup if you're not satisfied with the assigned keys you can always change them yourself to your likings.

If you have a keyboard with a keypad and plan to use F3 and F4, u can do what the others said above, and if you press 5, you'll go to where your train is currently, so if you press f4 and want to see a flyby of your train at its current location, press 5 on keypad.
