Start openBVE and try to run it normally. After the error pops up, go to your start menu, search for "Event Viewer" and click on Administrative Events on the left. Find an openBVE related fault and screenshot the details

The source code is the actual code of a program,  but if you don't know what source code means, you probably don't have any programming experience, so forget that advice. Make sure you have openAL install as well

https://sites.google.com/site/openbvesim/Download/win

Click the openAL link

If you made any changes to the source code - get rid of them. Otherwise, make sure that you have all the dependencies

Which program throws the "Object Reference Not Set To An Instance Of An Object" error?

Just to be clear on your errors- Routeviewer and Objectviewer don't work at all, and openBVE throws up an error, correct?

Looks great! I can't wait until the Lexington lines are completed

The error doesn't make much sense to me because a common source of an access violation error is an infinite recursive call. However, if that were the case, then the error would show up on everybody's computers, not just yours.

I feel like there has to be some other part of the puzzle here. Can you go back to Event Viewer and check if there are any other openBVE related faults?

What are your computer specs? (ie. CPU, RAM, OS, graphics card, etc)

Hello! I apologize for the extremely delayed reply. Most people in the forums are either in school or at work, and college finals are only a few weeks away, so the forum has been pretty quiet recently. I have a sliver of free time today so I'm going to go around and try to answer the unanswered questions.

As for your question, your openBVE folder should have a folder called "Railway". Inside your railway folder should include 'Route', 'Object,' and 'Sound'. Place the folder with the objects into the 'object' folder.

The R160 with customizable routes isn't currently released to the public yet. Only certain people have access to it right now

I apologize for the delayed reply. Work keeps me busy. I haven't had an off day other than weekends since July 6 and as a result my visits to the forum have been gradually decreasing.

As for your error, 0xC0000005 tells me that the program is trying to access a restricted part of your computer's memory. Just for reference, how many RAM do you have? Also, you should try to download memtest86 to check for errors with your memory

Whenever the issue happens, close openBVE and search for "Event Viewer." Expand "Custom Views," click on Administrative Events and see if they're any openBVE related items in the log. Screenshot them and post it here

Be a little more specific What exactly happens when you open openBVE? Any error codes, or does it just freeze up once you open it?

These are really good!
