when will them pieces of trash R62/A's be retired? they have been here long enough its time for them to go. when exactly will they be replaced by New Tech Trains?

That was a very ignorant response. Trains are obviously not retired due to customer dissatisfaction, and it would be wiser to ask the MTA, and not us. And no, they have NOT been around for too long(maybe too long in your lifetime) But the trains do not plan to get retired for another decade or so, now that MTA plans to retire older fleets as they turn 40, or so I hear.

Trains get old. That's what happens when time passes. The R142 cars turn 13 this year, could you believe?

I honestly think the R-179(5 car sets) should go to the (D) so the (A)/(C) can get the 68's.But idk.

Many are stripped in 207th and Coney Island for scrap. The SIR is 100% R-44's they got SMS'ed.Blue stripe(pre-goh) has been painted over in the 90's as part of the subway overhaul.
64 R-44's for the Subway are in Pitkin if in case the 32's have A/C problems. Some are in Concourse for storage(scrap pending).

Yeah, unlike some transit systems I know, we do not blow up our trains. That makes no sense and is redundant to scrapping. And by the way, last time I checked, this was a route discussion, not a train discussion.
