I'm so-so about it but I'm sure there will be many improvements the background is kind of bland.

It's the differences of RC4 and mainstream 1.1 installations of SMF.  I didn't realize there are so many features missing.  I suggest you try the quick reply.

Out of privacy complaints in the past I disabled the OS features and the active members in topic.  For birthdays, you can opt out and not put a year if you wish.  In fact it looks optional as far as I can see.  If you don't want your birthday revealed no need to put it.

Back to top is now Go up.

well actually about the birthdays, I was talking about the automatic creation of a new topic for somebody's birthday.
IIRC there was one SMF forum I posted on that did this.

That's the calendar which I have just enabled.  I'm not sure if it's enabled by default, but I will check some other time.  Those are the event posts.  I have also made the fix to stay on a thread after you reply on a thread.  If you guys really want to be able to see others on a certain topic then I will enable that.

Yeah, I like that. There was a way to do it in the other options thingy, but I was too lazy to use it. I also see you got rid of the Checkered board.

thats cool!

hopefully a lot of the graphical quirks get fixed up before the general populace migrates over here!

You guys did a great job with v5!  :)

Let me know where the other graphical quirks are so I can clean em.  Cause there really isn't a way to find it all without doing burn-in's.  So yea.

We will also look into adding some more color.

Thanks!

well here is one lol:

the word "quote"above a quote box is near impossible to see because it is close to grey on grey.

Example:
Quote
this is a quote

Also it would be nice to have links to the homepage and downloads in the forums.

You have to do some more exploring.

You have to be put into that group by an administrator

An administrative vote decided to upgrade the forum.  The forum upgrade however is unable to "upgrade" the old forum, so a fresh install was required.  Other factors were taken into account as well.  The new forum features could not be implemented without upgrading.  If you want different looks Go to Profile > Look and Layout Settings, and change the current theme.

I love the new look. Gotta update it to flash. But forum...
1)More BBCodes - more fun.
2)Change two buttons (agree over 13/agree under 13/do not agree) into one (agree/do not agree). I think here (at BVEStation) are no pedophiles, no strangers, just a OpenBVE NYCT addons, multiplayer and support.
3)Allow 160x160 avatars and many userbars. This will be more fun!
4)Allow personal MP servers, not only central TS server.
5)Enable autocensoring.

I'm never updating the site to Flash, nor will I ever.  I am highly against using flash on any of my websites...  Especially since I have an iPod Touch, and I see no need for it.  We aren't some hippie design studio looking to show off their work in some flashy animation.

Not possible, we are breaking the laws if we do that, and we'll close down tomorrow if we take that off.

Fun is what made us upgrade the forum.  People were having a bit too much fun if you ask me.

Personal MP servers, the average user will run into more problems compared to if they were using the central server.  I dont have the time to maintain an old unstable piece of code, let alone provide support for it.  So to make it easier for everyone, I've chose to use the centralized server system.  Hopefully Boss of Games will provide a player operated server, but that doesn't seem to be the case, if you want to run personal servers so your all out of luck  ;)  Bug him not me, I've made my decision.  Its easier for me in terms of running a centralized server, and its easier for the users to just click a few times to connect compared to forwarding ports, opening up firewall, and other daunting tasks a 13 year old would have no clue on how to do.

Auto-censoring is already enabled.

I don't know if Kevin mentioned this, I'm not a good reader but a few of the reasons central servers are used is to improve stability, user friendliness, and efficiency. Do you have an issue with the TS server?
