Title: OpenBVE Hudson Line Development Thread
Post by: mrsam127 on April 20, 2015, 09:29:23 pm
Well, after thinking long and hard, I've decided my next project is going to be the MNRR Hudson Line for OpenBVE. A skeleton is in the works, and the route will run all 74 miles from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central. Development will be slow in the near future, but once I release v3 of the Hempstead Branch, and the New Canaan Branch, development will pick up, as I plan for this to be my sole project. When there are major updates in development, they will be posted on my YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFtuTbfGJRjEb2twt6JAVmw. Stay tuned =)

I also live in NYC, so I have easy access to the line, but I'll definitely let you know when I need something in particular. Thanks =)

I feel like this thread has been very neglected recently lol. As you may know, the detailing north of Croton is done well enough for a prelim release. In addition to this, the Hudson Line will be extended from Albany to Poughkeepsie and from Riverdale to Penn Station to provide for Amtrak Empire scenarios. You can see photos of the updates on the MNRR and Amtrak portion of the route at this address, and the new Amtrak signals that have been animated for the purpose of this route.

I wouldn't think so considering the early development stage of the train, but one of the developers (who also worked on the M7), may add that feature as a plugin.

Probably not... it's a lot of re-coding to do, and would ultimately be a waste of time.  I would hand it off to another developer in the future so they can do so if they desire to.

As you may know, the Hudson Line is now in the detailing stage, and we are in the process of making more substantial updates. View the first four photos at http://s1235.photobucket.com/user/mrsam127/story to see new features such as buildings, trackside objects, detailing at additional stations, in addition to a few more updates. The initial beta will be released to the ITEA group at facebook.com/groups/iteaofficial, and will not include the Empire Corridor, just the Hudson Line from Poughkeepsie to GCT. The final public release will be hosted on this website, and will include updates to the beta release and the Amtrak Empire Corridor from Albany to Penn Station which is currently under construction. If you want to take part in the beta program, please join the facebook group listed above (not an advertisement, just a suggestion), and enjoy! More progress shots and beta release soon =)

Once again, sorry about the release delay. We have narrowed down the code causing the fatal error to be between 125th Street and Grand Central, and we are currently working on examining every line of code to find just what is causing the error. We expect a release by the end of the month, but as always, we do have other projects and non-BVE related lives to deal with, so nothing is set in stone.

Well, that is very soon! Is it going to include the Park Avenue Lift Bridge over the Harlem River?! If not, fine!

Ok, done with speculation. We finally determined that the route didn't work with the latest stable version of OpenBVE, but it does work with the new development beta. We will be fixing a few bugs and releasing the route in the next few days. Stay tuned.

Post by: mrsam127 on August 28, 2015, 06:53:10 am
The route will be released only to members of the Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/iteaofficial this evening because the downloads page on our website is not yet functional, and we've had website members leak downloads that were posted on our forum. If you are unable to join the group, you will sadly have to wait for the page to be functional.

Try reloading and running as administrator, and be 100% sure that you are using 1.4.3.1. The only other person that encountered this issue simply tried running it again and it worked.
