General BVE/OpenBVE / Re: R202 Issue

I'm amazed at the amount of resources it takes to run this train. openBVE hogs up over 1GB of RAM just to load this. Sometimes, the train won't even load on my system. It'll just throw up a "Parameter not valid" or "Out of Memory" message

Been down for at least 24 hours so far. Damn. Of course the site is down when I need a copy of 1.4.3

Amazing thing is that this is all freeware. With other sims like FSX you can get ultra realistic add ons.... at the price of an arm and leg. The fact that this stuff is so realistic yet free is amazing.

Take a look at the PMDG Boeing 777 for FSX... it costs $90 and its essentially like being in a real plane. Everyone should appreciate how these trains/routes that are being pumped out are still free

You really should get around to releasing this stuff! It looks amazing

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: BVE 2/4: issue with nVidia GeForce video card
« on: February 08, 2014, 01:00:50 am »
This issue with BVE 2/4 that you're describing has been around for years. This has been a problem since like the 8600 GTX series and it's not going to be fixed any time soon (if at all).

I don't know what motherboard or processor you have, but I do know that BVE 2/4 does run on integrated graphics. If you have a chipset that supports integrated graphics, you can try switching to that to see how it works. As for solving the nVidia issue, I don't know because I haven't used the legacy versions of BVE in years. I remember ipac (head admin) trying to work out a fix several years ago with his nVidia card, but I can't recall whether he ever found a solution. You can ask him, though.

A. Windows XP is going out of support in 2 months. Upgrade to Win 7 or 8
B. Use openBVE. It'll work with your video card perfectly and is compatible with all BVE2/4 routes. BVE 2/4 is not worth the hassle of trying to get to run on modern systems. openBVE supports many more features than BVE does anyways

I honestly can't think of any reason why you would insist on using BVE 2/4, when openBVE is better than BVE in almost every aspect of the game.

NYCTA Projects / Re: Status of Routes as of February 2014

The section from Pelham Bay around the loop to Brooklyn Bridge is 70% done. The section from Brooklyn Bridge back up to Pelham Bay doesn't even have track and tunnels laid, let alone detail.
Ah, I see. I can't wait for the route to be done then!
Actually we will build the 6 line as one continuous route starting at Pelham Bay Park, going around the loop, and back up to Pelham Bay Park. However, the line is currently only built up as far as Brooklyn Bridge on the northbound track. We may end up releasing this, and then later go back and finish it back up to Pelham Bay Park to allow us to work on other projects.
When the Downtown version is 100% finished, then why not release it? When it is time for the full route to come out, it will be a smaller download since most users would have downloaded needed objects already

So just to be clear, the (6) that goes only up to Brooklyn Bridge is 70% done, or is the entire continuous route (Pelham to BB back to Pelham) 70% done?

I think the original BVE Trainsim series is done. It simply can't keep up with openBVE. Just look at BVE 5 when it was released a few years ago. Nobody even bothered to make content for it

PelhamLocal- Is there an actual R46 with blue seats and black flooring

Black seats: Yes
Blue seats: yes, but its usually just one or two of the seats that become blue

Very nice work! I've been using the FIRR route as a test track but this would be a great route to use!

Nice work. I gained a few FPS in game compared to the old version

Not a knock on you ipac, I still love to run the (G), but remember when you made this?

This was like most amazing thing in the world when it was first released.  We couldn't believe how amazing this route looked for its time. And now, the the new (Q) line will come out soon and will completely blow this out of the water. Simply amazing.
