Newkirk Plaza*
Remember, this scenario takes place in 2006. At that time, the name of the station was Newkirk Avenue, since its renovation and name change didn't come until a few years later.

BVE/OpenBVE Support / Re: FRAPS Bandicam Issue

Experiment with those audio settings to find out what suits you best. Click on the drop-down menu for each to see what options you have. You can go for high sound quality by using higher settings, or you could go for low sound quality (to save some space) by using lower settings. It's up to you.

For simplicity (and this is what i do too), if you have MP3 files then you could just use the settings on the mp3 files and set them for Bandicam audio. The settings that I currently use are bolded/mentioned below.

  • Channels: Only two options - stereo or mono. Stereo will sound better.
  • Frequency: Many of my mp3 files will display frequency as 44100 Hz, so that's what i use. The higher the frequency, the better the sound quality, but you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Highest value is 48000.
  • Codec: There might be more, I don't know, but I only have only two options - MPEG-1 L2 and PCM. PCM is uncompressed audio and so should sound the best out of whatever options are available.
  • Bitrate: I use the setting on a mp3 file for this. Some common values are 128, 192, and 320. Higher bitrates mean better sound quality, but like frequency you might not hear the difference unless you listen carefully.

Nope. The reason is because they have no exterior model in the first place. The white boxes that you saw are just placeholders for them.

NYCTA Projects / Exterior of the R68/R68A will continue development
« on: September 25, 2012, 12:35:50 pm »
I just want to announce that I will be continuing what I started. And yes, you read it correctly - I will be making both the R68 and the R68A. I was supposed to make the R142A as well, but I decided to go on hiatus, so that was passed on to others. (I have no regrets though, and I wish the developers of the R142A good luck as well!  :) )

Some things that I want to point out before I end this post:
- I haven't started anything yet - I just want to set out a goal and work it out from there. So, no pictures here.
- View my old threads for what I have done so far. I'll continue from there, but may have to study them again to remember what I did. All those textures will be replaced though, as they are not mine.
- I have a good-quality camera myself, so I will be the one supplying nearly all of the textures. But if you still want to send textures to me, particularly the ones that you think I might find useful, then sure, I'll take a look.
- What I will need: textures for areas that I have no access to, such as the cab. I plan to make a 3D cab.
- This will NOT be animated. Maybe I'll look for someone who can animate it when it's almost finished, but for now I'll work on it and see if I can learn it on the way.
- I am not over-exaggerating. I know I can make something as good as what Rikabs or BStyles have made. So, that is what everyone should expect - a highly detailed R68/R68A exterior.
- I am in college, and I am at a point where I need to think of a major, my career, and what my future will be. Of course, I will have a lot of work and stress from college. Don't be surprised if there aren't any updates. But I will try some kind of time management so I can work on the exteriors a little bit.

I can't see them either. They just don't exist at all. But pressing the "Quote" button reveals the link, which directs you to the image.
DJ Hammers, next time you post images from postimage.org, click "Copy Image Location" instead of copying the link shown on the address bar, and then put that between the img tags. That might help the users who can't see your pictures on this thread.

Content Development / Re: G to Queens

It's a way to show him that you know how to code routes. But now that I think about it, I'm not sure if you'd need to do that for routes that already exist on the Downloads page. Try sending Phantom909 a PM for more info.

Adding on to what Lance said, you'll have to contact Phantom909 and send him your fictional route.

Glowing roll sign or tail lights.
Not only that, but the rollsign in that screenshot is a texture of what the actual bullet looks like in real life.

Alternatively, if you have the latest openBVE by odakyufan, you can now access your userdata in your openBVE folder, shortening your directory by a whole lot (shown by red box).

It's going to be hard/strange reading the log straight from Notepad. I mean, it's possible to read the errors on there, but I suggest copying everything on there and pasting it in Microsoft Word to see the errors better.

BVEStation Network News / Re: The new R46 has been released.

Works fine for me here. The only error I spot is in the 4-car extensions.cfg file. The directory listed for the trucks is "truck\truck.animated", when it should be "cars\truck\truck.animated".

Try loading routes with another train. Does the same thing happen?

This is great news! I didn't expect it to be released so soon! I will check this once I get back from my graduation ceremony.

Nice to see the rollsigns roll to the very beginning after it reaches the end. It's like having an endless amount of the same mylar prints!

My only suggestion to the rollsign is to add one or more white panels to the beginning and the end of the sequence.

The exterior is absolutely fantastic. Well done.  :)

Is this going to be release to the public or it still in testing?
Once it is completed then it will be released. But until then, assume that it is still in development.

Is That A Beta Release Version?
No. The user who made that post is CT1660, who is one of the developers of the R46 that you're seeing in his screenshots.

Other Projects / Re: Train Developing
« on: June 09, 2012, 02:31:33 pm »
In that case, an alternative (for the time being) is to use openBVE's tutorial for building trains. Remember to examine another train while reading, as that can make things easier to understand.
