MTA Endorses BVEStation for Arts For Transit
« on: April 01, 2013, 05:10:15 pm »
The MTA has taken notice of the work that occurs at BVEStation and its associated works.  The MTA has decided that the work on BVEStation would best be showcased in the MTA's Arts For Transit program.  MTA Arts for Transit commissions artists through a competitive selection process to create original, site-specific permanent artwork for rehabilitated stations and have selected some of the content featured on BVEStation for showcasing at the Transit Museum.

"We are pleased to showcase the wonderful work happening at BVEStation to the public, the works created at BVEStation provides an opportunity for the public to enjoy the subway system and its history in a more fun and interactive way" said MTA Arts for Transit Spokeperson Susan Portland.

The museum will be showcasing the museum exhibits of the works of BVEStation, from April 1st to April 2nd.

Virtual Reality Train Simulators

Brooklyn, April 1st to April 2nd.

The BVE Trainsim has gotten popularity in the London Transit Museums, the transit museum will be showcasing the BVE Trainsim with content for New York City, just like the London Transit Museums.  Patrons will be able to interact with a train simulator, taking on the role of a New York City Subway operator, featuring popular lines, like the A, or the 7.  Patrons will also learn the development of the subway system through small snippets of information that will flash on the screen as patrons pass by stations in the simulator.

Train Showcase

Brooklyn, April 1st to June 30th.

Virtual 3d models of prototype trains, and trains that are never built can now be experienced with a fully immersive motion simulator.  Patrons will experience realistic sounds, and feelings from the simulator.  Prototype trains include the R10, futuristic trains, like the R211 and service/maintenance trains.

Happy April Fools Day!
