Must be a high speed switch?  I remember when my train went over those switches, but I dont remember how fast it went.  :P

If you played the A you would've gotten that over with before :P

Anyway excellent work TJay  :D  Just wondering, didn't the stations use incandescent light bulbs?  Or was that even earlier than 1970's  I'm actually kinda interested in seeing some of that.

I would suggest you show us some samples, or screenshots so people can actually see what you are doing.  I'm pretty sure most of the people here have no clue what you just said in that post since most aren't developers.  For the ones that are developers, most don't program anyway.

As for everybody else though, we'd like to see something tangible, and not just text on the screen with words without proof.

Nice sounds!

Which ones do you have? I may be able to fill in the missing ones since I'm a frequent weekday rider of the F.

Transit / A Day In The Life On The G Line
« on: January 19, 2011, 03:42:30 pm »
I used to be a frequent rider of the G line.  Nothing has changed other than the extension to Church Avenue, even then there hasn't been much change.  I've seen quite a bit while riding this line though.  Everything from track fires, to battery runs, to random station skips.  Halfway through my ride at Myrtle-Willoughy our train was evacuated due to a smoke condition on the first few cars.

Battery runs aren't all that rare but they are short and sweet when I catch them.  Usually making major stops like Metropolitan, Bedford Nostrand, and Hoyt.  A few times we just skipped a station due to police investigations without notice beforehand.

The G is usually on time, though its frequency makes it easy to be on time.  In the mornings during rush hour the frequency can feel very long, even though the trains are really only 5-8 minutes apart.  What was nice however was catching the F via Crosstown, those were always interesting runs.  Especially when one of those times it was a R32 F.  Nice to see some change on the G, cause it does get quite boring.

I have yet to ride a R160 through Crosstown, which sucks, but I've seen it and I've always been on the wrong side of the track to take it.  :(

A minor update for Newtown has been released.  This new version includes a brand new Auxiliary server which replaces the backup server, and could potentially become the main server.  The Central Server will be offline, so please use the Auxiliary server from now on.  All corresponding pages point to the auxiliary server.  The Auxiliary server is hosted on BVEStation's supplementary servers  :D.  All previous versions are now disabled, so it is recommended you get this newer version.  This new server as usual runs 24/7.

A quick recap for those of you who dont know what Newtown is, Newtown is the latest proprietary Multiplayer Engine powering ipaclansite's OpenBVE:ME.  Being rewritten completely from the ground up offers much more stability and ease of use, compared to the original system.  No more worrying about a user disconnecting destroying the whole run, and no more random crashes on the Multiplayer side of the code.  No more trying to guess the number to see where the player ahead you is.

For more information on Newtown, please visit the ME Newtown page on the homepage's link bar, or visit here, http://www.bvestation.com/multiplayerN.php

As ME is technically not in development, it will not be updated with the latest version of OpenBVE nor will any major features be added.

Enjoy!

The route uses a 3d cab, and has animated buses, it cant work for BVE 4 unless it was converted.

The A already has a video, check out the downloads section to see which ones have videos missing, and I'll fill those in.

Please stop double posting, we get the idea the first time.  Keep doing it you will be considered spamming the forums and violating a rule.  If it was not intentional then please say so and a staff member will help you out on removing the double post, but seeing as the posts were at least 3 hours apart, the double post was intentional.  You are also violating the rules if you are doing it to bump a topic.  Please do not do that.

Resources are available for people who want to create routes, please, please visit the homepage of BVEStation and click develop.  I dont understand why people cannot USE BVEStation to its fullest extent when all the resources are smacked right in front of you.  You dont even have to search for it.   I dont understand how I as the webmaster can make things any easier for you guys to provide this information, compared to v4 where all the information was hidden inside menus and what not.

Please visit this page: http://www.bvestation.com/devzone.php

Its a shame if you bookmark only the forums of this website, because you are missing out on the other 65% of the website.  I know people that do this, and its a shame.  If you want the full BVEStation experience, bookmark our homepage, NOT our forum.

If you have a question or a specific tutorial you would like to post, then feel free to post it in the forums, and thats what the forums are for.  They are not for asking questions that are obviously smacked right in your face on the homepage.  If you are requesting for better tutorials or have somethings that are unclear,  then you can do that as well, but please do that as a last resort.  The forums are for discussing specific questions about these things, not for obvious answers.  This topic will now be locked.

The author according to BVE-Routes is liber.  The train is based on the Cl323, and yea doesn't really have good sounds.  Still a nice run regardless.

Finally another system in the United States for BVE.  The metro system in Atlanta, Georgia, or MARTA as they call it now has the North Line for BVE.

The route is a nice, fast and smooth run from North Springs, to Lindbergh.  The route itself is still quite primitive, but offering basic detailing that is enough to make the ride enjoyable.  The route even features moving buses, animated signals and a 3d cab to use.

From a somewhat urban center to an outskirt of the city, you'll be passing through all kinds of underground, overground and at level stations, and even riding along side a highway at speeds you'd expect the cars to be flying at.

Overall, its a lovely short run, and its great to see something fresh for the United States in BVE.

The route can be downloaded here,
