Transit / If The IND Second System Had Gone Through
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:27:59 pm »
If The IND Second System had gone through as planned with no delays or distractions or depressions etc.... our subway system would have been different. you would not have had to walk more than a couple of blocks of your house to catch a train and the subway would even have reached into long island and possibly Westchester County. but along with those changes many lines would have changed. here some for example

---IRT White Plains Line (2) (5) and Dyre Branch in the bronx would have been IND, the cars used would have been B Division standards
---IND Second Avenue Subway would have connected to the IRT White Plains Road Line and the Second Avenue Line would have stretched all the way to throgs neck.
---The (A) would never have gone to the Rockaway's
---The (E) would have gone to Voorhies Avenue in brooklyn to my understanding
---And several branch lines to Staten Island

so if the IND Second System would have gone through would you like the system and think it would be more efficient than it is now?

Transit / Major Fleet Changes For The IRT
« on: May 14, 2011, 08:57:08 pm »
well i just heard from a t/o friend of mine that theres going to be a major fleet change for the IRT.

Half of the R142A fleet on the (6) based out of Westchester yard are going to the Kawasaki plant in Yonkers to be converted into R188's for the (7) based out of Corona Yard.

The Sets Of New Tech that is going to the (7) line will be replaced with R62's that will go to the (6). looks like 62's is coming back to the bronx.

rumor is also spreading of various 62 sets heading back to the (4)

finally the surplus of R142A's from the (6) will head to the (2) line. being based from 239th st yard A.K.A wakefield yard. making the (2) and (5) lines fully new tech train lines even though they are already full of new tech.

also the (7) line is rumored to get CBTC control signals when the final 142A's are converted.

CBTC is also rumored to be placed on the (2) and (5) lines when the surplus arrives.

sources are: 180th st, unionport yard masters, Tamara from teamspeak and bebo.  looks like this is going to be the first overhaul of the 142A fleet.

General BVE/OpenBVE / terrible run
« on: April 10, 2011, 03:32:44 pm »
hey guys um today sunday at 2:15 the members that where on teamspeak had a run. we started at 2:16 after some trains left late... um the run was great wish more of you had been there. the run was good at first and everything was going well until um one of the t/o's train stalled at 42ND. every other train had to stop at 7Th ave 50Th st and in the tunnels. the staled train was able to move to 34Th street to allow local trains enter 42ND street. so this is all to let you know on some run that did not go so well today in bve. so yeah. next time hope more of you are there.
